Overcharged me 6/19/2009

I knew I was in trouble when KoKo Marina Union 76 had me sign the agreement to research the engine check light code and fix the problem for an estimate of $150. When they told me what the code was for an ""evaporative system leak"" which turns out to just be the gas cap not being tighten enough, I felt it was kinda excessive and told the lady cashier so. She looked guilty as well as being puzzled for the overcharging just for the 1 minute it took to pull the code from my car's OBD2 computer. But I paid it knowing the repair guy was not happy since I wasn't going to get to ripped off further by having him pretend to fix my ""evaporative system leak"". Ah, yes I waited 3 hours for him to do the engine light check, when I returned a few times to still see my car still parked where I left it originally, I finally gave up since I got no phone call to tell me anything. I said since you have not gotten to it, I'll come back tomorrow or take it back to Windward Ford dealer. That's when the guy says "" you have an evaporative system leak"". Since he wasn't going change what he was charging for that comment, I asked for the computer code to be detailed on a report. So I paid $137 after using a 25% off discount coupon for the service of telling me that my gas cap was loose. Thinking it over the next day, I wrote a letter to the KoKo Marina Union 76 owner and told him I thought the charge was quite excessive and that bill for the little effort done should have been more like a $60 charge. I also mentioned that I had been referred by relatives. No response or phone call back for a month now. I was hoping to use this service station for my car needs since it was convenient but the missing Aloha convinced me that I should NOT do business with this service station even though I'm needing a brake job, A/C recharge etc. But most of all, I'm disappointed that the referral was from my family of uncles and aunties and they were shocked that KoKo Marina Union 76 overcharged me for the little or NO effort work on my car. They said "" the guy has NO Aloha!"" So on every Sunday our family meets after church for lunch or dinner, we all discuss the subject of Koko Marina Union 76 & wonder if the Repair guys still try to rip people off and their NO Aloha style of doing business! My take is that: it's your risk to do business with these people who seems to me will not flinch a second on overcharging you if they can get away with it! Enough said, I'm witting about my bad experience where ever I can so others won't get taken also. I'm still quite mad about this incident, but mostly I'm sad. I thought the guy would offer the Aloha and just tighten the gas cap. I may have been overcharged the $150 for the OBD2 computer code readout, but he's lost my car repair business forever along with my uncles & aunties (with their friends too). Be careful with this KoKo Marina merchant! Pros: Referred by relatives Cons: Overcharged excessively with NO Aloha more
