One of the only authentic Japanese restaurants on LI 3/21/2010

I have been on a quest for great nigiri sushi and I'm glad to find this hidden gem! Every selection was fresh the sushi chef knew what he was doing by the correct cut and adding the right amounot of wasabi to the rice, for example(not many places on LI even do that). The homemade gyosa is a must and the terayaki dishes are excellent and they are not cheap with the meat, for you protein lovers :). Went back a 2nd time and had another wonderful experience. As far as my crazy roll comment. I didn't see much combo rolls named after people, towns, etc.(i really dont like those, but that's just me) but my guests ordered a couple and they were perfectly balanced in flavor. Finally found my favorite sushi on LI! Pros: Everything is excellent Cons: not many crazy 10+ ingredient rolls, if you like those more

The real Japanese restaurant in NY!! 12/2/2009

Hey guys... this is taiki, a guy who does a waiter sometimes in Koiso restaurant. I certain that this restaurant is the best Japanese restaurant in Long Island. Even though in Japan, it's difficult to find such a high quality restaurant. So, just visit us and try real sushi and real Japanese home cooking!! \r \r More pictures and our menu is coming soon... fresh sushi 8/6/2007

Best sushi restaurant on long Island. I just ate at Nobu in las vegas and it doesnt compare to the Original rolls at Koiso!!!! KOISO has the best and freshest rolls... The Husband and wife are lovely and so is there son. The firecracker roll is fantastic!!! The service can be slow because its a small restaurant with usually just the husband and wife working there. \r The locals in Carle Place are trying to keep it a secret. I recommend heading over during a week day more

VERY Kid friendly! 1/16/2007

This reataurant is a small family run business, with wonderful home style meals and sushi! The owners are on site at all times, always willing to make suggestions about what to eat...they have even prepared special dishes for us and for other diners sitting nearby! The best thing about their restaurant is that it is very child friendly as they have a large basket of toys for children to play with. Our daughter insists on going there all of the time! Pros: The owners, the food, little kids enjoy the toys! Cons: Food service can be slow but worth the wait! more

The best 2/4/2006

If you want the best sushi, come here. The fish is incredible and the rice is perfect. Ask the sushi chef whats good and eat it. I have loved sushi for a very long time and this place is simply the best. Pros: great fish, great rice, great place Cons: not for california, roll lovers, sorry more
