Kohl's Department Stores

Kohl's is another dept. store in the vain of Sears, JC Penny, Carsons etc... I have never seen any tools or repair equipment the way I have at Sears. They are not as upscale as Carsons, I guess they are a little closer to JC Penny. They sell clothes and shoes for the entire family, jewlery, gifts, bedding and linens etc... There are sales as Kathleen has mentioned, they also run promotions that I have seen advertised in local papers offering special limited time coupons. They sell alot of quality brands and have a nice looking store. more

The thing I really like about Kohl’s is the variety. They really are well stocked in each department to give you enough choices about what clothes to purchase. They also have some really fun décor and kitchen items. They even have a toy section, which is small, but the jewelry department is awesome! more

If you're looking for a reasonably priced department store, Kohl's will more than satisfy you. However, if you're a bargain shopper and enjoy the thrill of the hunt, then you've hit the jackpot. Regularly priced items are comparable to those at JC Penney's and Sears, but you CANNOT beat their clearance racks. Wait for their Gold Star Clearance at 70% off or more, when you take 50% off the lowest marked price. After that, they set clearance racks at $1-3-5-7-10-$15, with eventual further markdowns. I found two cashmere cardigan sweaters for $1 each last year-- best finds ever! This store has a ton of selection, but service is so-so (It's nearly impossible to find someone to help you, and check out lines are often LONG). Compared to other Kohl's, this is the best of the region. It's not the largest, but it's in a plaza with a Starbucks, Yankee Candle, and Bath and Body Works. It's great for a lazy afternoon of browsing. more
