The Kohala Book Shop in Kapaau has a great collection of rare books. They carry over 30,000 books, paperbacks, maps, prints and more. They have books about Hawaii and the Big Island. Their books also cover such topics as the South Seas and Captain Cook. Some of the genres included are history, fiction, biography, mysteries, religion, Americana, and many other categories. The book shop is located in the charmingly restored Nanbu Building and Courtyard, one block from the Original Kamehameha Statue. more

This is one of the Big Island's largest new and used book store. They have over 30,000 books, paperbacks, maps, prints and other items. They have books in such genres as history, fiction, biography and mysteries.
