poor communication 2/2/2011

Koester has very poor communication and it starts at the top. They interrupt and want to "set you straight" and miss the meaning of what you try to communicate. Their administrator is rude, defensive, and absolutely does not listen and the rest of the staff act just like her example. The overall communication is very very poor as well and we can never find out what is going on. I believe that it all starts with the administrator's bad example. more

Koester Pavilion is poorly managed 7/29/2009

Do not put your mother here unless you are content with friendly hall greetings. Poor communication will prevent residents from having a productive stay. Questions will not get answered, LPNs are "too busy", aids are not fully instructed on what care your loved one will need, and management is defensive, not helpful. Many mistakes are not addressed. Although they try to present otherwise, it is a large institution, and communication not conducive to good care. more

Smelly, no TV or Phones and where is the staff. 4/4/2009

I think it is a given for patients to have a phone included for there stay. Plus you have too bring your own TV. When you are there-the odors would knock you down. You go for a two hour visit andnever see anybody. So when you live out of town do you pay the1.25 a day for a phone? They are so cheap. more

Short staffed 11/2/2007

My grandfather has been admitted to Koester Pavillion several times for short periods. During the day, when they have plenty of staff and therapists and activities coordinators, etc. things seem pretty good. However, we've not been pleased with the understaffing that seems common on the evening shifts. more

  • Established in 1977 and located in Troy, Ohio, Koester Pavilion is an assisted living and rehabilitation center for senior citizens. It is a more than 140-bed facility that offers residents and families with individualized services. The center organizes a wide range of spiritual, physical, social, musical and creative programs and activities for residents. Koester Pavilion provides several amenities for senior citizens, including resident rooms, closets and cable television access, daily mail and newspaper delivery, a resident council, dining room, beauty salon and library. The center also offers various other amenities and services, such as an outdoor patio, flowers and vegetable garden, room service, religious services, laundry service, recreation center, and chapel and activity area.
