I had Dish Network since the days of the 9 foot dish. More as a refusal to accept incessant price increases with the cable company I was with at the time deemed tolerable. A job I was working required a high speed internet connection, so I got Road-Runner. The phone company was in the rate hiking game, so I switched to Vonage. Everything was fine for several years with the rates of all three maintaining moderate yearly increases. My income situation required me to review my budget and make a few changes, so I called Bright House wanting the $99 bundle. They said it was for new customers only and since I already had Road-Runner, I was ineligible. So I went with Knology and was saving $50 a month. The problems I have with them is I got old equipment that looked like crap sitting out in view. About every 3 months my internet speed takes a dive and I need a tech to come out, thus losing a day at work. I can no longer use my caller ID to back dial anyone if an area code is listed locally and nobody else outside my area code because they use local land line standards that require you to dial a 1 first unlike my old Vonage. As for the TV, if you don't have their box connected, it doesn't go beyond channel 99, even with a digital/cable ready TV. Their box has a real problem with the volume output when you're using it to view the signal. I can be watching local TV bypassing their box, then switch to their box and I need to turn my TV up about 25% higher. I have 2 boxes and they both do it, so it's a design issue. Their online TV guide doesn't lists details like when the program was made or if the show is new like Dish Network does. All and all, I not thrilled and I'm likely going to return to Bright House when Knology's intro price go up. I'll be a new customer and should have no problem getting a good bundle price.
