I went to visit Knitting in Scottsdale the same day that I went to a couple other shops in the same town. Hey, while I was up there... why not? :-)
I fell in love with the little shopping center that Knitting in Scottsdale was located in. The shops that caught my attention were the bead shop and used book store - which are also worth visiting if you have the extra time. :-)
When I first walked in, I was overwhelmed with the amount of fashion yarns they have! I mean, if you like furry, glittery and shiny, this shop is for you! Personally, and please feel free to disagree with me, but there was so much glitter in there that it was hard for me to see the little bit of 'regular' yarn that they had.
This shop had a good selection of notion, including some really nice purse handles - which in my own experience are usually hard to find. They also had a clothing rack filled with hand made items - and they were so nicely made too! A few were under priced in my own opinion, but then, I don't know how fast the person who made it knitted. :-)
The main reason that I rated this shop as OK was because I was not impressed with the service. There were quite a few ladies sitting at the table in the middle of the shop, and none of them got up and asked if we needed help or anything. I actually wanted to purchase a ball of furry yarn that was almost the exact color I was looking for a doll that I was making.... and I waited more than 5 minutes at the register for someone to ring me up. I actually ended up putting the ball back and purchasing it at another shop! So, if you're a shy one, then I may not recommend this shop or else you may never get any help.
