I have never been a crafty person but when my co-workers decided to get together to form a knitting circle I was open to the challenge.
How and where to get started? My only experience with ‘yarn work’ was being taught to crochet by my great-aunt as a seven year old. I knew Wal-Mart carried yarns but they looked icky – all loud, brash colors and rough polyester textures.
The leader of my knitting circle suggested Knit Together. This place is another knitting circle, a larger one, for the community. They sell high quality yarns, the type you would be proud to wear in a scarf or sweater. The people there are so enthusiastic and informative, they have converted me over to the ‘craft side.’
