Kitchens Of Distinction

Had them install a kitchen in 2006. They came on St. Paddy's day and demolished the old kitchen and then disappeared for a few weeks. This was the story for the entire job (a guy showed up for some work and then disappeared for a few weeks). Job took months to complete, and included wrong cabinet doors delivered, someone putting their foot through the downstairs ceiling, electric stove outlet falling out of the wall, new kitchen window not centered and had to be moved, drainage clean-out plug sheetrocked over, etc, etc, etc. --you get the picture. As of late 2011 have had major issues with: Candlelight Cabinets that were installed (door panels separating, shelve edging separating, etc); the counter top cracked at the L inside corner due to no corbels installed underneath; a pipe burst soaking the downstairs family room. Stay away from these guys! more

2-1/2 stars. For a small shop they have wide range of offerings however the comment by another reviewer about staff being Jekyl and Hyde is an apt description. They are more tuned into sales than service. But they can give OK service. However customers must be alert and involved in each and every step, get orders in writing, in DETAIL. And then Check everything as it comes in ... Much like one would do at Home Depot or Lowes. more

In checking with KOD it seems they do not know anybody by the name Trish T. This review came in right after they let an employee go. Perhaps Trish T is a former employee. Any way my kitchen came out outstanding. Great ideas, great products and the personel were always professional. It did take a little longer to complete but we get complements every time a new person visits our home. Great job by everyone! more

In October 2007 KOD remodeled our entire kitchen. We met with Home Depot, Builders Choice, and KOD. KOD came up with the best overall design and showed our kitchen design on their computer in a colorized three dimensional view that helped us decide to go with them. JHome Depot was ok, but gave us a black and white line drawing of the future kitchen and moved some things around that did not make sense. Builders Choice did not get back to us in a timely manner. We worked with Scott Harlin at KOD and he was helpful in choosing each item, making suggestions for the overall finished look we were looking for, and assisting us through the process. Once we commited to them they were extremely accurate with the timeline of when materials would arrive and when contractors would be in our home. They worked well with our subcontractor that was resurfacing our floors. At the last minute we had a problem with a faucet that we had bought that would not fit. We had Kitchens of Distinction remodel our kitchen. When they came out to give us an estimate, they were friendly and had wonderful ideas. The problem was the owners Jekyl and Hyde personality. We were shocked at how unprofessional he was. The work was contracted out and we have no complaints about the quality of work, just the attitude of the owner. He needs to take some classes in social skills. more
