Best

love this place...really known to serve the true locals! I eat and drink here a few times a week..love the ambiance and know that I can relax with well versed professional wait s...

Worst

Extremely over priced, poor service (except if you get up they are ever so prompt to refold your napkin). Very slow service. I would not recommend this place.

Excellent! 1/15/2006

We visited the Kitchen ""Upstairs"" Lounge for the first time last week and it really hit the spot! The drinks were good, the appetizers tasty, the service very cheerful and efficient, and the atmosphere was very New York without the attitude. We may become regulars... Pros: Good Happy Hour, Excellent Service, Excellent Food Cons: difficult to find! more

Overpriced 12/13/2005

We went to the kitchen last night for the first time excited after the many good things we have heard. The wine reccommended was excellent. The fixed price of $45 was shocking for what you get. The food was no better than mediocre and should have been superb for the price. Dessert was delightful and I would go back to sit up stairs and drink wine, but will never return for dinner. Wait staff was excellent and helpful! Pros: good wine list, great dessert, nice atmosphere Cons: over priced, mediocre food, small menu more

An Extremely Unique Experience 11/19/2005

I have traveled a great deal during my adult life, and The Kitchen is one of the most interesting eating experiences I've ever encountered. I've eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner there, and every time I walk out the door I've said ""wow, that was a great meal."" The ambience is wonderful with it's very simple decor that is at the same time quite inviting and elegant. The menu changes daily, and their food is generally prepared differently (ingredients, spices, sauces, etc.) than anywhere I've eaten. Combine the exquisite taste with their local, natural ingredients, and you have a meal that is as good as any you'll eat and one you'll remember for a long time. Dinner is priced above average, however, the food and experience make it extremely worth while. You may want to make reservations for dinner, as it has been full when I've been there. Great experience. Pros: Exquisite Food, Interesting Ambience, Great Service more

Great for brunch 11/19/2005

There's no questions that this place and Frasca are the best spots to eat in Boulder. Food is consistently good and service, almost always, impeccable. more

Amazing restaurant focused on using organic and local ingredients, surprisingly fairly baby friendly. more

Great for dinner 6/16/2005

We've been to the Kitchen twice and been wowed by one great dish after another. The prix fixe is a bit pricey at $37/person but you get a lot of food (we did not need 2 desserts after 2 apps and 2 entrees and went a la carte on trip 2). The setting warm and not too loud. Great service and nice wine picks. We'll be return guests. It can be quite a long wait so call ahead (not sure if they take reservations). more

People always gather in The Kitchen! 4/1/2005

A great new addition to Boulder's dining scene, The Kitchen brings flavor to your table by using fresh, local ingredients. The limited (8 entree choices) but ever changing menu is created based on what's fresh that day. We started with the silky house pate and the well-presented cheese plate. Both were very good with the interesting, rustic, bread. For our entrees we tried the Coq au Vin served with Isreali Couscous (much better than you could imagine) and the Hanger Steak served with greens and au gratin potatoes (just wonderful). The use of fresh, organic produce really make the flavors pop! The wine list is interesting but a little pricey, The service was very good. The tables are pretty close together here so I hope you're not closterphobic. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was okay but don't bother saving room for it, just have more appetizers! We'll be back! Pros: Fresh Ingredients, Great Flavors Cons: Tight Seating, Parking more
