Founded in 1966, Kirtland Community College provides access to education and cultural opportunities to the people in northern Michigan. It offers higher education in transfer and career technical programs, developmental studies, work force development and personal enrichment programs, and cultural opportunities. It also has a nonprofit foundation whose mission is to provide educational benefits to the Kirtland Community District. It has a more than 150-acre campus, library, center for performing arts and Youth Theater. It provides a wide range programs, including associate degrees in arts and science, automation, business, computers, contracting with business and industry, cosmetology, criminal justice and education. Additionally it provides engineering design technology, creative writing, studio and theater arts, and graphic design programs.
