Kirkwood is awesome. Great snow, lots of slopes, great location. People like my family and me go there when they are driving from the Bay Area and don't want to stay the night. This is the closest ski resort to our area and you also don't have to get mixed up with the traffic of other giants Like Heavenly of Northstar. Kirkwood has a great variety of rides. When I go snowboarding there is a very nice slope, perfect for beginners like me. When I ski i can explore the whole park. They have a whole section just for the black diamonds. The ontly problem is that if you are not an advanced skier/rider you will have trouble getting to other lifts because you have to kind of zig zag up and down the mountain to get to the next and then the next life (You get on a lift, ride down to the next, get on a lift......) You can get Kirkwood tickets at Costco. IM not sure how much an adult is since we had season passes but I know that Costco sells two Youth tickets for $64, somewhere along those lines. Got get em! more

kirkwood is a great place for snowboarding and skiing. They have high slopes that don't just go straight down. The slopes are challenging with turns and drops in elevation. All the slopes are long, which is a good thing because you can snowboard for a longer period of time. However, that also means the ski lift ride is long too. The snow there is pretty smooth. more

I love skiing and Kirkwood really quenches my thirst for it. I went here once last season and I really like it, I do think I will return this up coming season. What I liked most is that the runs are pretty long, I could spend half an hour going down the mountain. Thats really great, it means thar even if the resort is jam packed (like it is most of the time) I can still enjoy myself and not have to wait in long lines so much. The snow is really great, you can tell that the ski resort is thriving and they have money to do things like this. Wonderful Views, wonderful fun. O yeah, expensive though. more
