Great Place to Get Jerk 11/6/2009

First of all I love the new location. The old location was next to train tracks. It was just a little dangerous. But, the new location on 95th still but, across the street from Border Book Store. The food is always good. I cannot say that I have ever been disappointed. The meals are very large. The meats are always cooked well. I suggest that you order ahead because the service is a little slow. Pros: Savory Jerk Meal Cons: Closes too early 9 p.m. more

I ordered at 6pm and Grubhub estimated my order would be ready by 6:35. Jerk Chicken - Perfectly done- falling off the bone, tender and moist. Callaloo (essentially Jamaican version of Greens) - Well prepared, not soggy. Large sprigs of thyme still in it- so they are using fresh herbs! Plantains - Slightly sweet and beautiful golden brown with a slight crisp to them. Absolutely perfect! Meat patties - Great pastry and meat seasoned to spicy perfection. Oxtail - Tender meat falls off the bone. It is so good! more
