Queen of the Spa 4/13/2012

Great space for a day of relaxation with the girlfriends. I've gone now to 2 King Spas (Niles and NJ) both amazing. It's a big jarring at first to see everyone so naked but you have to suck it up and get over it. No one is there to look at you or judge, we just want to relax. The food is decent korean food but it's a combination package..wifi, food, massages. more

Love King Spa 3/10/2012

This is a sweet cultural thing and the children seem to be happy and peaceful at this spa. The environment provides a great place for families w/ young children for appreciating self care, bonding and closeness. I was impressed that the nudity was not an issue for the kids on any of my many visits to the spa. I can't be surprised that some people may find it a problem that there are no special indulgences for children. The cleanliness, calm and excellent spa services plus the waters make it my favorite! more

Not a place for family with children! 1/17/2012

This place is not a kid-friendly environment and yet they say it's for families. From the entrance, the staff told me to discipline the child to be quiet when my son hasn't even done anything. Since the dry saunas were too hot for my son, I wondered around with him in the public area and I encountered several different discrimination. There's really no area and no activity for younger children. I had a terrible experience! more

Noisy 11/7/2011

A very noisy place. Tried to relax in several of the various dry heat saunas and always seemed to be surrounded by small groups on non-descript women constantly whispering very loudly. And I mean an extremely loud constant whisper! They are non-stop and do not come up for air! I really wanted to like it, visiting several times always hoping it would be a little more peaceful... Also, it has a lot less than any health club, as it only offers a series of dry saunas, a couple nude hot-tubs and public open-air showers. I don't get it, but the owners are smiling all the way! Oh, there are a bunch of plastic-upholstered chairs with people sitting around loudly murmuring or passed-out in the sweat-drenched required uniforms... more

Amazing for aching muscles 8/12/2011

This was my first time and it was amazing! It was an effort to avoid urgent care after a rough fall. It was the perfect therapy and I left feeling better than I thought was possible. The facilities were immaculately clean and top notch quality. The staff was very attentive and helpful. I really enjoyed myself and want to bring my girlfriend next time. Being nude in front of others was a first (since gym class), but the decorum and attitudes of the other bathers made it much easier. Don't let it scare you away! I will be a loyal customer after such a great experience. more

Fantastic! 8/1/2011

I had a wonderful experience at King Spa and am looking forward to going back asap! I must admit, I had to get over the idea of being nude in the pool/steam sauna/scrub area, but once I did I had my best spa experience to date. The facilities were very clean and the staff extremely attentive. I made the mistake of not putting my shoulder length hair up and was approached almost immediately by an attendant with a rubber band. Everyone is required to shower before entering the pool area. Ladies, you MUST get the body scrub! Once you grow accustomed to the fact that you're lying naked on a rubber bed and being scrubbed down by a korean woman wearing loofa mitts, you can enjoy having a full body exfoliation. After the scrubbing part is finished, the woman washes you and you soon realize that (as my friend put it) this must be what it feels like to be a baby and have someone give you a bath. My skin has never felt softer or cleaner. She then washed my hair and off I went into the steam sauna again. After a quick shower we were given our guest uniforms (pink tshirt and shorts) and headed to the co-ed lounge are where I received a wonderful 90 minute acupressure massage. I felt like a noodle afterward. We then headed to the food court where a delicious lunch was waiting for us. We hit almost all of the dry saunas - from hot to cold. I enjoyed the salt room the best. My bill was extremely reasonable for what I received and am looking forward to becoming a regular there! more

A trip to the spa should be a relaxing, blissful experience, but if it's your first visit, it can be slightly nerve-wracking not knowing what to expect. The following tips on spa protocol 101 will remind you to mind your p's and q's even while you're being pampered--and act as a manual to make the most out of your first spa-going encounter. more

Great Place! 3/19/2011

It is a must for all. Very therapeutic. Never felt much better after my visit. The steam room is absolutely terrific. The various sauna's accomplish what they are set up for. It is worth every dollar spent. more

Best Korean spa in Chicago 12/27/2010

When on vacation in Chicago stumbled upon King Spa. Very similar to Spa Castle in NYC (that I frequent often). Amazingly clean facility and a all inclusive experience. Just bring yourself...or a friend and spend hours. Open 24/7 Love it! more

AMAZING!!!!!! 9/20/2010

This is the most extravagant place. If there is a heaven it resembles King Spa. Do it all: massage, scrub, sauna, steam, cold room, sleep room, relax, eat, ..... If you are a traditional spa lover this will blow you away. It is a $20 entrance fee ans everything is free except hands on services are additional. Massage & body scrub with Jenny is heavenly at $90 which includes a shampoo, scrub, facial mask, & massage and tip! I am mad about this place. I thought the Canyon Ranch was a nice place & the spa at the Wynn was gorgeous until I went here. And it is so clean it sparkles everywhere! more

I love all the hot rooms and tubs. \r I dont really like spas but this is something very different it is co ed and you can hang out with your partner all day for a decent fee about $25. I definitely had to go a few times so I can use all the hot rooms. I give it 5 stars.\r Lisa K more

Niles Best New Edition. 8/2/2010

King Spa in Niles was a great experience. I have never seen anything like this before. I heard there were places like this in Korea and one in NJ but to have one in Chicago is unreal. I like coming here with my family its like going to a day spa and going home relaxed. The Korean food here is probably the best in Chicago but they do not sell the Korean BBQ which I love. King Spa is very clean and has friendly employees. Only thing I did not like is that you cannot wear slippers in the showers but I did see employees scrub the floors 2 times in my 4 hour stay. Pros: Good Korean food cheap price Cons: No slippers inside the showers more

Chicago's Most Unique and Largest Spa and Sauna! 6/15/2010

This spa is nothing like what I've ever experienced before. Although this is common in Korea, it's rare to see something like this in the states. I've already been there a couple times with my family just within the past month. It's exact location is in Niles, IL right next to Super H-Mart and Home Depot (corner of Oakton and Waukegan). Here are a couple reasons why I keep going back there. 1. Variety: This place has 8 whirlpools in the men and womens' spa, a steam sauna, 9 different kind of dry sauna, body scrubs, massage, aroma gold massage, acupressure, and foot massage. It's great to go around and try all the different kinds of sauna without any limits. There's ocher, fire Sudatorium, ice, amethyst, charcoal, base rock, bulgama, salt, and gold pyramid rooms. Each of these rooms are said to have different health benefits. You can enjoy all this for only $20. ($15 for children 2-12 and free for children under 2). I love the fact that I could stay there as long as I want. When I go with my mom, we easily spend about 5 hours. 2. Healthy: This spa and sauna is not only great for relaxation; it's healthy. The whole purpose is to sweat out all the impurities and toxins in your body by breathing in elements from nature. It's a self-healing mechanism. After doing the spa and sauna, my skin feels like a baby's skin! I also noticed I shed a few pounds- which is a big plus for me! I personally love the Salt room and the Base Rock room. It's one of the lesser hot ones but I sweat profusely without feeling like I did. 3. Restaurant: Inside the spa, there is a restaurant and juice bar that has fruit smoothies, hawaiian ice, Korean and Asian food. If you order a meal, they give you all sorts of side dishes with it. It's great that I don't need to change and step out of the spa just to eat something. 4. Convenient: This place is so convenient. I don't need to carry a baggage with me with all my stuff. They give you uniforms (t-shirts and shorts), small towels, soap, shampoo/conditioner, toothbrush, and toothpaste. The best part is...you don't need to pay for it! They also sell gowns, caps, body scrubbing towels, etc. Everything is scanned in the key you get at the entrance so you don't need to carry around money with you. If you get any massage, you pay that when you're checking out as well. 5. Family friendly: Kids and seniors of all ages can go. They have a movie theater in the common lounge where I've seen Avatar, 2012, and Alice in Wonderland. They have rows of comfortable recliner sofas for all the customers to relax and enjoy the movie. I've seen people fall asleep in there because it's so comfortable. 6. Quiet lounge and meditation hall: I heard some customers have travelled from out-of-state to visit the spa. Instead of booking a hotel, they just sleep overnight at the spa. They have a second floor with mats and pillows specially for customers who are sleeping. They also have another room filled with recliner chairs and flat-screen t.v.s for people who are taking a break. 7. Classy: Pretty straight forward. It's clean, professional, and classy. The decor and furniture is beautiful and it makes me feel like I'm at some fancy hotel! All in all, I love this place. I go about once a week on the weekends with my friends or family. It's been a great unique way to bond with people while de-stressing and getting healthy at the same time. Pros: Open 24/7, everything's provided, convenient transactions Cons: No outside food or drinks...but it's like this everywhere more
