Definately loved the chicken. At first I thought it was burnt. But I soon found out why they call it golden fried chicken. Perfectly cooked even though sizes of chicken were amazing. I had an entire chicken breast section- not 1/2 like at most places- that was smaller than most pieces you get from KFC. I wonder if it was a cornish hen?? Doesn't matter because it was great whatever it was and I was pleased to eat it. The remaining breasts were normal sized and equally delicious. The catfish was also great. Cornmeal dredge with good seasoning and cooked perfect. Sides left alot to be desired but liked to see them at try to have something better than the usual. Mashed potatoes seasoned with some garlic powder that seemed fake and wierd with fried chicken. Salty chicken flavored gravy. Coleslaw with sweet peppers was different but again seemed wierd. Potato salad was pretty sweet but was the only side anybody actually ate rather than just tasting. I guess the french fries were OK- deep fried crinckle cut. We will go back and look forward to trying Mac-n-chez, seasoned green beans and some other sides to find their perfect combo! Well worth the visit and enjoyed visiting an establishment where the owners actually work, it always shows in the quality of the food. To many restaurants have the owners walk around and pushing the PR. I would rather have the person who benifits most from good food cooking it and serving it!
Pros: Fish, chicken and shrimp. Value with friendly staff
Cons: Sides
