On Thursday, May 5, 2022 I came to Kindred Hospital. I find the workers here agreeable, reliable, and social. The nurses are the heart of the work force at Kindred. When they speak a to you or treat you for your problem they are direct, efficient, and experienced. I feel confident in the hands of the nurses and coworkers.
I find the food to be better than average for the most part it does rather quickly become repetitive. I did on 2 occasions become physically ill during or right after eating. Both times it was when a pasta with white cream sauce was served. It would be nice to know what the meal is before you get it. For about 4 days around May 25- May 31 I and some of my breakfast or when taken, I reported this each day. Some of the staff were not sure they believed me. On May 31, during a meeting I was informed that my lunch was taken. It was later found and the staff were then are in agreement.
The occupational therapist and physical therapist are thorough in both their interviews and exercises. I believe I have gained in strength and balance. The high point is when I walked about 25 feet without assistance. This is the first time in 3 years I was able to take steps unassisted.
The administrative staff are highly visible and willing to deal with any problem that comes their way. They do not put you off, but begin to resolve an issue immediately. I have been hospitalized in four separate facilities for a total of 65 days. I find Kindred to be the most professional while still sowing compassion for the patient.
