Dr. Thiele began his career in Ohio as a child shadowing his father, Dr. Otto Thiele around his office, the Byesville Medical Clinic (1960-1993). He followed in his father's footsteps and graduated from Osteopathic school in Kirksville, Missouri in 1980. He worked in public health caring for underserved areas of West Virginia under the National Health Service Corp. from 1981-1985. During this time he also served in the United States Army Reserve Medical Corp from 1981 to 1991.
In 1985 he was appointed EMS Coordinator for Harrison County, West Virginia and worked at the Emergency Room in Bridgeport, West Virginia. Dr. Thiele traveled to many places providing Emergency services. This lead him to Alaska where he worked in Ketchikan, Anchorage and finally, the Kenai Peninsula. He worked at the Medicenter in Kenai from 2001 to 2008, and then Family Medical Clinic in Soldotna from 2008 to 2011. He began his solo practice in 2011 with great success and fulfillment.
