We moved to Stamford from NYC and couldn't find decent sushi anywhere until Kiku opened: a tiny space, with four or five tables. The yellowtail and tuna melt in your mouth. The rolls come in endless variations, including geo-local specials. The salmon skin hand roll is crunchy with strips sliced so thin that they curl up. The Ikura is fresh and they have quail egg top it off.
And we all love the tempura green tea ice cream. And they just expanded, so there's room to spread out.
Pros: Fresh, delicious, creative sushi; family run, lovely people
Cons: 50's retro strip mall location
