Kihei Rent A Car

I just rented a Sentra from them, and let me start by saying, THEY LOOK NOTHING LIKE THE ONES ON THEIR WEBSITE! The models--yes but the actual look and feel of the vehicle--NO! The car I had, had major scratches and dents around the entire car! on the driver side, the passenger side, the roof, the hood, everywhere! The cars interior was burnt! stained! and so dusty! My dashboard was thick with dust, looked as if it hadn't been wiped down in a couple of months. The brakes on the car were squeaky, which was scary. The AC was -okay- not as cold as i would of liked it, but it did work, technically. The cd player didn't work which they do tell you when making the reservation, but still that kinda sucked. I was not expecting a lot, but i was expecting something better then that! I guess its like the saying goes ""you get what you pay for"" right?! I would not rent from them again. I gave them a rating of 2 because technically the car did get me around, but the car itself was in terrible shape, like why even rent it out??? all in all this was honestly the worst car i've ever rented. The price is good--dirt cheap! but that's exactly what you get with the car-DIRT! if you just need a car to get from point A to point B then their cars are fine, but if your looking to feel comfortable, and relaxed, and truly enjoy every minute of your stay, i would recommend renting from another company. I've travelled the world and rented cars from many different providers but never have I had a car break down or come riddled with fleas. After going through 4 different Nissan Sentra's in 4 days and suffering a flea infestation we finally gave in and hired a proper car from a well known provider. The first car had starting problems. The second car refused to start when it was parked at the top of the Haleakala Crater, which is about a 2 hour drive from the office. We had to hitch a ride back to town. The third car was a filthy mess and had fleas. The fourth car was fine but we used it to drive to one of the popular car hire offices at the airport ands then returned it. When I challenged the staff at Kihei rent a car about the shoddy cars and flea infestation the response I got was ""This is the tropics, we get sand fleas"". When I responded with ""We did'nt go to the beach and i picked a flea off my leg while sat in the drivers seat"" she simply walked away without a word. I've never experienced such incompetence and such unreliable cars as with Kihei rent a car. Even the cheap independent car hire places in third world countries run a tighter ship than these guys. Lesson learned, you get what you pay for. I'd forgetten about this valuable lesson but the reminder cost me countless hours of wasted time changing cars, $30 on flea spray and itchy sleepless nights.
