Best breakfast in Maui, great people and food! 10/3/2008

The bell capt. at our hotel told us about this place, it was wonderful. We were in Maui 5 days and ate there 3 times. The food has a very home cooked feel to it. And everything we had there was awesome! (chirizo and eggs, friedrice and eggs, pastries and portugese sausage) This place doesn't look fancy but don't let that scare you off, it's the best breakfast. The employees are very friendly and helpful they even let me try one of the pastries after I asked about it. All seating is outside with a great view of the beach and great for people watching. I would recommend Kihei Caffe, we loved it!!! Pros: great food, good people, good sized portions Cons: NONE!!! more

Best breakfast in Kihei! 9/29/2007

We've visited Maui 3 times in the last two years, and Kihei Caffe is easily one of our favorite breakfast restaurants. The restaurant itself is very casual. You order your food, find your own table, and then a waiter brings your food to you. The tables are outside and overlook the beach. It's a very relaxing, informal way to start your morning in Maui. The pancakes are great... we personally like the banana pancakes with macadamia nuts and coconut syrup. The french toast and omelets are also great. The smoothies are superb. I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone staying in/around Kihei. Pros: Great food, low-key/casual atmosphere, decent price Cons: Shabby tables/chairs. more

Great food, great service. You won't go away hungry! 3/14/2007

Hey this place is great. We tried it for the first time, always a bit leary of trying a new place. But really- the crowds are not here for the great and convenient location only, they are here because the food is wonderful and the service is fantastic. This feels like a family owned place complete with a mother type figure coming around to chat with her customers at your ocean view tables. Homemade cinnamon rolls are the bomb- homemade scones melt in your mouth. We recommend the pancakes as well. Huge portions are well worth the price (which isn't really THAT bad- you are in Maui). Don't be afraid of the waitress (looks like Yoko) with the handgun necklace and handcuff earrings- she is super friendly and helpful! Go- you won't be sorry! Get there early though- the goods will be gone quick! Pros: Location, quality, quantity. more
