Across from "A Place to Grow" in Colorado Mills mall is Kiddie Kandids Portrait Studio. Until yesterday I had never taken my daughter there for a photograph.
As my daughter was playing at the play area, a photographer from Kiddie Kandids came up to me and asked me if he could photograph my daughter and give us a free 8x10. I asked him what he meant, and he explained further, saying no strings attached. So, I said yes, gabbed my daughter and went into the studio.
After a minute giving him my info, he took us to the front portrait room and showed us the backdrops. He asked me which ones I liked, and then got the first one ready for my daughter.
Our photographer smiled a lot, and coaxed my daughter into the right positions with sweet sounds and kind words. My daughter laughed and smiled for most of the time (she got bored at the end).
After our session, our photographer let us view our pictures and then allowed us to pick our favorite one for the free 8x10. He offered another type of picture, but did not push at all for us to buy it. The picture took about 5 minutes to print out, and then we left.
Overall, I thought the experience was great. I liked the backgrounds (though I think Sears Portrait Studio has way more) and the props (we used a parasol and a lei on different shots). The photographer was enjoyable, and we weren't pushed into feeling we needed to spend money. Oh, and the pictures came out nicely, too! I had a hard time choosing between two of them, and now I am thinking of ordering the other one, also.
I would go back for the experience, but I'm not sure about the prices. Online the prices say about $15 for a sheet.
