Kicklighter Academy

Kicklighters staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. My twins attended the nursery and Ms.Ophelia as well as Ms.Joy have such a wonderful way with babies! They are true assets to the academy! A day never went by where I felt they weren't in the best hands possible. The staff creates lesson plans even for the infants, they worked with me on the schedule that I already had my babies on, they maintained communication about events throughout the day, and most of all I felt that they truly cared for my children. I recommend Kicklighter to any parent looking for a daycare. more

having been involved in the kicklighter resource center for several years now it sounds as if concerned mommy has a personal grudge by clearly mistating the facts she would have you believe her friend knew 3 of the teachers and they smoked illegal things as if her or her friend didnt smoke these things perhaps it is ok for her friend??? everyone gets a background check to be a hire there are no criminals working there as the through background check would have weeded them out..... there are drug test stated theres no privacy to review the tapes they are in a secure area with expensive equipment you just dont let everyone play with.. stated her child has been picked up without anyone showing i.d. no child is picked up by someone else without advanced notice of said parent .. plus there are two security doors one to enter recption area one to gain access to the academy most classes have two teachers per class room no child is left unattened there are security cameras in every class.... so concerned mommy left out an amazing amount of facts wanting you to believe there are criminals and pot heads working there this is not true...go check it out for yourself they were voted best chidcare center 2008 Pros: quailty child care speaks for itself more

My two year old went to this school which is pretty nice, but Savannah is very small and word gets around. A friend of mine knew three of the girls working there and the all smoked illegal things. The background check is not thorough for all staff because two criminals were working there. You have no privacy when you want to review the tapes in which they should have more than one computer. My child has been picked up without anyone showing I.D. They have healthy lunch which is a plus. The school is great for learning but I was more worried about the staff and assistants. I would here a lot of stories quoted from staff talking about the children and how the they are barely watched. It's scary having criminals heads caring for your children. After a friend told me that this place was the ""Ritz Carlton"" of childcare centers, I decided to check it out. I wasn't really unhappy where I was, but like every parent, I want my child to have THE BEST! And I found it. Kicklighter Academy is a great place for my son. He has curriculum and is learning so fast. The teachers are great and I am confident that he will be ready for Kindergarten when the time comes. I like that they deal with children with developmental disabilities & delays because they were able to spot some weaknesses in my son's learning curve and we corrected it immediately. Some other cool things are that classrooms are separated by age and they even have two 3 yr old classrooms. They were voted 2008 Best Childcare Center. Kicklighter Academy answered my call for quality childcare, an enriching environment, caring teachers, and of course, reasonable rates. This facility opened up my eyes and reinstated my trust in others. You want long-term care, security-coded doors and cameras, wide-open privacy fenced playground, age appropriate curriculum and classrooms, no wait lists, off the beaten path and still in the center of town; this proud parent encourages you to just take a tour. Don?t take my word for it, see for yourself. It is located on Seawright Drive , off Eisenhower across from National Guard Armory. My daughter is now 4 years and has blossomed due to this school. Kicklighter is a wonderful school for ALL children. They Specialize in children with special needs. However, they accept ALL children. I like the fact that you can watch your child on video at the office if you have any questions about their day or if you just want to do it. You can talk to the Director at any time if you have any concerns and she will address them. I like the security. You can only walk into the school if you have a key, if you do not the door will have to be opened for you. The only thing I would say negative about this school is lack of communication from the classroom to the parent. However, I know that they are working on this and it can be fixed. If you are looking for a school that you don't want to think about the safety of your child and like the low teacher to child ratios. Then this is the school for you!
