Multiple unauthorized credit inquiries 11/28/2011

I went to this dealership because I knew they were a participating CUDL AutoSMART dealership. I told the sales person I bank with North East Credit Union and wanted my loan with them and only them. I specifically told them NOT to run an application with anyone other than North East Credit Union. The dealership took it upon themselves to run a credit report through 3 other banks disregarding my request with out my knowledge. I've called and spoken with the dealer the explanation they gave me is there were trying to save me money and that there is nothing they can do. They could have respected their customer's wishes in the first place. 1 Star is to good for their blatant disregard for customer service. more

Avoid! I'm reporting them to Better Business Bureau 9/6/2011

I was looking to purchase a 2010 Chrysler T&C van. During the negotiations, the salesman offered the car for $19,998 and a trade of $2800 for my 2004 Dodge. I told him that I still had 10 payments left on the Dodge of roughly $2500. Later I found the actual payoff for the loan was $1150. The salesman said that Port City would take care of the payoff. Several times I repeated this question and each time he responded the balance would be taken care of. The cost of the car with trade in would be $17,198 plus $25 Title fee and I made a deposit of $2000 bringing the payment to $15,223. This amount was to be the final cost with no additional charges. The salesman then quoted a monthly payment amount to me for 75 months at 5.75% I wanted to check out other payment options and said so to the salesman and to the business mgr but did sign the purchase agreement with a pickup date for Tues. afternoon. Nothing was said that my arranging for a loan would change the purchase price or that I would have to pay off the old loan myself. Repeatedly I asked about the old loan and repeatedly told Port City would take care of it. After I got home, I realized that it was Labor Day Weekend and nothing would be open so I called on Sunday and postponed purchase until Friday. In the meantime, I started researching loan rates. Tuesday morning I received a call from the business manager. When I told him I had found a lower interest rate for the loan, he told me I would have to pay off my 2004 car loan myself or add it to the purchase price of the 2010. I said that completely changed my feelings about the purchase of the vehicle and I wanted to cancel the sale and receive my deposit back. I was told I could not get a refund. I either purchase that vehicle or another at Port City or lose the deposit. According to the contract, the deposit is to compensate the dealer for any losses sustained by them. I do not understand what losses could have occurred; it was a long holiday weekend, the contract was signed late Saturday afternoon, the service department was not working on Sunday, the dealer was closed on Monday and it was now 10 AM Tuesday. more

I went to these guys last week to trade in my truck for a dodge ram 1500 and felt like a man being used. They offered me 13000 for my truck and when i informed them The Kelly blue book trade in value was 17500 I was told Kelly blue book doesn't live in the real world. I left and said i would never go back there again for a new vehicle. I just recieved an offer in the mail from them informing me of the buy back program they're running. The offer is for up to 2000.00 dollars over Kelly blue book fair trade in value. The fair trade in value for my truck on Kelly blue book is 15,700 which is 2700.00 over what they offered me last week. This is from the same guys who told me last week Kelly blue book wasn't living in the real world and yet they use them for thier business. This offer also states my vehicle is due for service which i didn't even buy from them in the beginning. I also wonder if the buy back program is only for Dodge/Chrysler vehicles and why would they send it to a ford ranger owner who was just there last week and left mad? Yup quite the business they are. more

Do NOT BUY HERE! I am reporting them 9/11/2008

After traveling from Boston to Portsmouth; I was looking for friendly faces and fully enjoy my car buying experience. I have been looking for over a year for a two-seater convertible and have been really upset with the lack of integrity of some of these places, however, this experience had to have topped them all. After finding their cars online, I decided to make the trip to check out a very nice car possibility. I had Ryan and Carl? double teaming me to buy the car. Ryan just stayed silent and Carl insulted me and successfully convinced me that my car was 11,000 dollars less than what it was worth!......yeah, I can't believe it myself. I know that car dealerships need to make their money but what I encountered there was totally out of line and they totally took advantage of a young female trying to find a car. Not only was I pressured to make a unreasonable decision, I ended up leaving to come back the next day with my final decision. The next morning, I received a call that there was a problem with my check. Capital One actually declined their offer because they tried to sell it to me for WAY TOO MUCH! My own creditor saved me. After going back and forth on the phone and speaking with the financing officer John, he told me that he is going to try to go through his banks. Ran my credit-----I was already approved for the car! Just not at the price they were trying to sell it to me for! I felt so stupid and manipulated. I would like to believe that there are well-natured businessmen out there. I was so confused by everything and they kept on giving me so many different stories as to what was going on, I knew that I was being taken advantage of the next morning. \r \r I am a very reasonable person and I just wanted to have a great experience with buying a car. I am so upset with their selling practices, and how I was treated that my lawyer recommended that I file a complaint against this dealership with the BBB....none the less. \r \r Do not buy here! Steer clear! Pros: Next to the ocean??? Cons: Everything! Read below! more
