My family and I had a less than spectacular meal at Kerrytown Bistro. When I had called earlier they handed the phone over to "Reservations," which was a joke because only a couple of the tables were full when we arrived, even though it was during the Art Fair. We were seated at a table placed awkwardly in the middle of the main room and it was less than cozy. We had to shout to be heard in the dungeon-like, musty atmosphere that stimulates sleepiness rather than hunger. The waitress was irritable. We waited nearly an hour for our food (even though the place was barely half full) and could barely see our plates in the poor lighting, but at that point we were so hungry we didn't care. The menu lacks choice; three of us ended up getting the same $25 soup. Overpriced and a waste of three hours.
Pros: some unique dishes
Cons: service, overpriced, gloomy atmosphere
