My computer lock couldn't open. I called a few locksmith , most of them told me that they couldn't help me. Finally I called Kennedy key & security, the dispatcher said that the locksmith will be here shorty. I own an apartment, and the door knob stopped turning. I called Kennedy key & security to have all door knobs replaced (along with new locks) at about 10am. The job was fully complete by 1pm. These guys are legit, in a business where you can't say that about everyone. I got locked out of my place and called the 1st place I could find on the web browser on my phone. I got completely overcharged by a ridiculous amount, plus the shady dudes put the new lock on backwards. Called Kennedy key & security and they were very cool. Told me the price I should have originally paid and gave me some advice as to what measures to take. They then came out (were very upfront about the charge) and fixed my backwards lock. I called this place when my wife locked herself out of our car and our apartment because Google Maps said they were three blocks away. I asked if they took MasterCard, and they said they did, and they would be there in a few minutes. After waiting around for an hour and a half in just-above-freezing weather, the guy showed up and demanded cash. My wife had to drive to the closest ATM and pull $180 to pay him. If they'd been honest about how long it would take to get there or that they didn't accept credit, I would have called another locksmith. more

My new favorite locksmith. Kennedy totally updated 3 old doorknob/locks at my building, adjusted the door closer, and made it so our buzzer works again! All tenants are now much safer and happier. I accidentally locked myself out of the office. I took a similar knob off another door to figure out the mechanism. Went to Don's Lock and Key on Mission about options on how to deal with a 1940's lock. They told me, "I wouldn't attempt that yourself. I suggest you do it professionally and call to make an appt. (for tomorrow?? even though they are 50 yds from my door!!) Note to self: Geezus, it ain't brain surgery for F*sake. Returned to the crime scene. Judy's book to the rescue! Great recommendation. Dan was really great guy. I had some ideas of what might work and asked Dan who said it might do the trick and walked me through some other possibilities over the phone. Figured it out somehow with a screwdriver (less than 5 min). I told him about Don's and their pricing and he even offered me a discounted rate that was way cheaper than what Don's quoted me, if I couldn't do it myself. I called Dan back to tell him I got the lock to open, he also agreed, "nope, locksmithing isn't brain surgery" and that he was glad he could help. more

So my front gate was hard, if not impossible to close for over a week. Instead of getting it taken care of I decide to just slam the heck out the gate to close it! Long story short the gate broke Friday night and I was bummed. This being my first house I take pride in my castle. So it's Saturday and thanks to all the great info on Judy's book I found Kennedy Key & Security. The service was excellent and Kennedy's was great! There was a mixup with my call and appointment (the reason for 4 stars instead of 5) but the locksmith took care of it with a break in the price. All in all I will definately give them a call again if ever I need repairs to my home locks. more
