Wow, looking on here makes it look like a different gym than the one I've been going to for the past 6 years. I love the Spin and aerobic classes and my favorite teacher is Tammy....

Overall future fitness is not worth the price. The personal trainers are not qualified at all. I have yet to see a nutritionist because of the very limited hours. One of the selli...

Horrible Contract 10/2/2011

I would give them 2 stars, but after reading all the 5 stars it's obviously FF employees writing them. When looking at their profile they made multiple ratings for this gym and they're all positive. Don't believe the 5 star ratings This is a fact taken from their contract that was signed by me and FF staff in December 2010: ""Requests for cancellation may not be taken over the telephone. Members must come into the clubs during normal club business hours. Monday through Friday 10:00 AM through 6:00 PM, to complete a transaction form."" I work during the week. I have to get off early from work to cancel my membership. This is ridiculous. This is why you shouldn't join this gym: 1) Horrible service and no one can ever answer questions about billing. 2) No central organization. If you call FF in cherry hill or turnersville they can't help you if you attend FF in Berlin. 3) Sales and managers will yell at you, for minor infractions e.g. no having the towel properly placed on equipment. Their enforcement of rules are out of line. 4) It's all smoke and mirrors. Their 1$ a month $10 down is false advertisement. After 1 year membership and talking to other members. No one has gotten this deal. I paid $680 TOTAL for my 1 year membership. You pay monthly fee, start up fee and initiation fee. 5) Gym hours are horrible. Weekends at Berlin (from their website) are: 545 Route 73 West Berlin, NJ 08091 856.753.1800 Mon-Fri: 5am more

BE WARNED 8/16/2011

Like the title says...be warned. My wife and I decided to check Future Fitness out in Berlin because we live in Berlin. My parents owned a gym for 18 years, so when I went in I asked them just for pricing...forget that...they make you wait and wait and wait for big muschle head Joe, and then he proceeds to take you on a 30 minute tour, even if you tell him time and time again...I see the equipment, I know what it does, can we please get a price. God forbid if you have kids. They try to time share sell the hell out of you. Wait for this line that you will definately hear ""this price is only good for today"" LMAO They are the car dealers of fitness. Get a grip. HIGH Prices that change for everyone, pressure sales, and parking that sux. BE WARNED! more

BI-POLAR MANAGER AND STEEP PRICES 5/19/2011

TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT. I had a consultation appointment with the manager, because I was interested in the new deals they were promoting. When I tried to bring it up, he kept making personal attacks on me, threatening my goals and motivations and even teasing me. Not even 2 minutes went by before he lost it. He has an awful temper! His final words, as i excused myself from the bully-like meeting, were a smug ""THAT'S FINE, I'LL GO MAKE MONEY OFF OF SOMEONE ELSE. "" So as you can see, this is not the friendliest environment. Beware of the excruciating sales pitches full of brutally manipulating techniques. Furthermore, I'd suggest that you don't even try to mention money because it's thousands of dollars out of your pocket any way you spin it and they don't want you to know that. more

Horrible - Worst Customer Service Ever 4/24/2011

They have the worst sales people ever. They know nothing about gyms and can't even do basic arithmetic. They are just meat heads trying to get as many people to sign up as possible. I've been to plenty of my gyms in the SJ area. Most have been good experiences others have out right horrible, and Future Fitness falls into this category. Everyone who is staff is extremely cold and nasty to your face. I was sucked in by their sales people who bore you to death with a scripted routine. By the end of the 45 minutes of them talking they ask you if you're a match for the gym. This is completely absurd, and they are just trying to make the gym feel exclusive. The price is above average for SJ gyms, and the equipment is subpar relative to other gyms in the area. The head sales manager will yell at you if you are doing something incorrect. He will get into your face, and will insult you in from of other gym members. Pros: Mediocre equipment, lots of classes Cons: Customer service is the worst, During peak hours it becomes packed. Price is relatively high more

High pressure sales tactics & horrible customer services. 1/5/2011

Overall future fitness is not worth the price. The personal trainers are not qualified at all. I have yet to see a nutritionist because of the very limited hours. One of the selling points the high pressure sales people use is the internet access on the machines. Navigating to any website will result in the machine crashing. They are running windows 95, they are very outdated machines. The manager of the gym is always hassling everyone to use towels. I've never had this problem before with the other gyms I've been to. I would continue with those other gyms, but I have recently moved. I guess I will continue to use the gym until my contract is up, just so I don't lose the hundreds of dollars I had to put up front. I gave this place 2 stars instead of one just because they do have some decent equipment. more

Excellent facility 11/12/2010

Joined Future Fitness about a year ago. Have seen great results and I am very happy with the facility. Exercise floor is a great open floor plan, and I have my choice of equipment all the time. Trainers are great to work with on a monthly basis, and the fact that they come with the membership is a huge bonus. State-of-the-art equipment and cardio with TVs make working out a regular part of my daily routine. more

SCAM Inc. 10/22/2010

I stopped in with check in hand after I saw the $10/month promotion sign. Well, it is just a scam to get you in the door. I have been working out for many, many years and due to its convenient location wanted to join. I sat down with a rude and very obnoxious guy who wasted 35 minutes of my time with a high pressure interview to seemingly determine whether I was a good candidate to be a member. Even after repeatedly asking how much a membership would cost he was very elusive and refused to give a straight answer. I went from ready to join to walking out the door as I was not able to asertain how much a membership was nor could I bear sitting though the sales pitch any longer. The facility seemed ok but I couldn't even make it past the sales office. Don't waste your time. It can only get worse from there! more

Ever Hungry for Money ( 3 year member) - Berlin NJ 08091 6/6/2010

Have been a member for 3 years. My association with the fitness center had its ups and downs, but here is the gist: 1. once they know your needs and requirements, the manager would start his cheap games of trying to lock you in some never ending agreement. 2. you will never realize how difficult it is to get out of their contract. 3. there is a zillion fine print clause that makes life miserable if you try altering your membership in some way. 4. All smiling faces from reception to manager will show true colors when you contact about an unusual service, eg. international travel (account freeze), moving to neighboring facility or even termination. Be Xtremely cautious with them in case you decide to join. * Pros: nice website and promos, just to get you locked * Cons: 0 customer service Pros: nice website and promos, just to get you locked Cons: 0 customer service more

The best gym in the area by far! 5/11/2010

This is by far, the best gym in South Jersey. The whole floor is kept clean. The towel policy is the BEST! and this gym seems to actually enforce it. Everyone cleans the machines after they're done with the wipes, and they're courteous to other members. The staff is great! My trainer saw that I've got ankle problems before I ever told him, and he built a routine around them! The classes are fantastic. I usually go to spinning, yoga, and the zumba classes, but I've taken everything they offer (incuding aqua classes -- try them. don't be afraid of the older women there. it'll kick your hiney afterwards. ) The instructors are great and will keep you a level that pushes you, but not too far. This is a big difference than Bally's. They seemed to think that everyone there had worked out every day of their lives. I'm a college student, and I'm not home or around a FF gym when I'm in college. They have plans for college students, which start in May and end sometime in August. You don't have to sign up for anything, or pay anything extra. You can just pay for all three months up front. The only problem I've had is with the hours. They're great hours, but if you want to work out late because of work, they may be closed. Working in psychology, I know the only people who really write reviews are those who have had a great experience, and those who have had an absolutely terrible experience, sadly. Everyone I've talked to from the gym has said nothing but great things about it! Edit --- I forgot the no kid thing. There's an age limit on who is able to join, so there's not a bunch of 13 year olds taking up the equipment. Also, parents are made to bring their children into daycare as soon as they enter the gym, and the only time you see them on the floor are either on the TVs broadcasting the security cameras or after family swim on Sundays. Pros: no kids, great packages, towel policy! Cons: hours couuuuld be better. more

excellent equipment, facilities! 9/5/2008

I've been a member of Bally's, LA Fitness and a few women's-only clubs, and they aren't even a comparison to the perks I get at Future Fitness. I am very happy so far with the trainers, the classes and even the child care club, except I wish it was open more hours. All the people there are friendly, and if I don't go for a week, the receptionists always notice and ask where I've been! They don't make you feel like just a number. The fees are reasonable (I'm paying $38 a month) - much lower than I expected for all the things they offer for free. I'm pretty sure I finally found a gym I can call ""home"". Pros: practically everything Cons: daycare opens at 9:00 am (wish it were earlier) more

Best gym in the area! 8/26/2008

I joined Future Fitness 2 1/2 years ago and have been really happy with my experiences. Lots of my friends ended up coming over from other gyms, and we all think it's the best one around. I like the atmosphere - it's a ""no BS"" place. People are friendly, but most are serious about getting into shape. The trainers are a lot of help, especially when I first started and hadn't exercised in a long time. I don't use the pool, but like that they have one in case I decide to. The hours are good, and the equipment is better than any other gym I've ever been to. more

Future Fitness 5/22/2008

It's easy to comment on Future Fitness. I have personally found that everything they say in their ads is true. The best way to use the gym is to take advantage of everything they have to offer. I'm comfortable with their personal trainers and they really are free, I don't know how they do it. Their sports Dr. has given me only good advice, I look forward to my monthly meetings with the nurse to check my progress and the nutritionalist has changed my eating habits for the better. I'm not paying much more than I did at my last fitness center but I feel as if it's worth every penny and although I don't plan on quiting any time soon I'm glad they enrolled me month to month instead of locking me into a long term contract like my last gym did. The place is clean, huge, and although I go to the gym after I get done work, it's never crowded. I probably sound like an ad for them but I have been disappointed in other clubs in the past and I'm thrilled to finally find one that delivers the results I've always been looking for. Pros: Free personal trainers, Dr.. RN, Nutritionalists. All the latest equipment on the market Cons: pool to warm for me to swim many laps, but the other people seem to like it that way more

5 is better than 4! 3/27/2008

The only thing better than 4 Future Fitness health clubs in this area, is 5! Since I live in Mt. Laurel and work in Blackwood, I love the ability to use the different locations. Now a new one is opening in Mullica Hill. Each one is fully-equipped with the best machines, really clean, quality staffing, and fun classes. Our whole family are now members and there's something for every age! I have always exercised in health clubs and find this one to be the best yet. Pros: everything more

Friendly atmosphere 2/14/2008

I was a member at Bally's and LA Fitness at one time, and was discouraged by their poorly run clubs. Equipment was always broken, it was dirty, and there was never anyone around to help. I've been a member now at Future Fitness for about a year, and have had only great experiences. Their clubs are clean, professional, and most important - they have a no-nonsense approach. I not only have gotten into great shape, I'm managing to stay in shape because of the help I'm getting. This is the first club I've been to that I highly recommend! Pros: Excellent equipment! Cons: No daycare on Sundays more

High Volume, No Customer Service -->> Bad Experience 8/20/2007

have been working out for over 20 years and have been a member of numerous clubs. I can tell you, Future Fitness is full of probems... Starting with their high-pressure sales approach which is full of lies (such as, ""controlled membership size, no crowding, plenty of parking, simple cancellation, dedicated personal training programs,"" etc). After sign-up, the management forgets about you, although the owner, Craig, may yell at you for forgetting to bring a towel. This guy (such a fake) has decades-old pictures of himself posted around the gym of when he was injecting steroids daily. Now the guy wears a wig and always has a fake tan... They're so strict about using towels, however, they fail to offer a towel service. The ""silo"" approach to sales has led this maze-like club to be very overcrowded during mid morning and early evening hours, making it nearly impossible to have an efficient workout, due to the long wait time for machines (especially the cardio equipment). The personal training program is very overrated. Cleanliness is another issue: there's always spare equipment and things laying around, machines are dusty, the ugly curtains covering the walls are very dirty. Maintenance is haphazard: the ceiling was recently spray painted without the club being properly ventilated which led to all the equipment being dusty and the air very unhealthy to breath (this lasted for weeks). The circulation system is terrible; the whole gym feels like a sauna... When you try to cancel your overpriced membership.. good luck; the cancellation process is full of red tape. While the club does offer some nice pieces of equipment, the place is not worth the money. I could go on and on, but basically, the strategy of Future Fitness is to sign up as many people as possible, many of whom eventually become frustrated and stop coming, but are forced to continue paying because the cancellation process is such a time-consuming hassle.. We really need something better in this area. Pros: some nice equipment Cons: unprofessional sales tactics, bad customer service, overcrowding, uncleanliness, bad ventilation more
