Editorial review from Citysearch 1/28/2013

This place is safe and congenial, IF you follow the rules. Since most ranges are indoor and require membership to shoot long guns, I appreciate KGR allows public shooters on their 50/100 yrd rifle range. I also like the outdoor setting versus the many indoor ranges. \r \r People who are complaining about the gruff nature just have 'delicate egos.' They should accept the criticism about following rules and move on. I feel extremely safe at this range because of their oversight and attitude. more

Worst range I've ever been to when it 5/21/2012

Worst range I've ever been to when it comes to rules. - I read the rules long before I started shooting after waiting for the cease fire that took ATLEAST 30 minutes. -I fired a constant accurate volley as any responsible shooter would do.There range safety officer verbally lashed me as if I hadn't read there rules which had clearly been enforced on my friend and I (5 benches down two guys were shooting consistently without removing there magazines for every single shot!). Really one round at a time, that's completely asinine. Who doe's that with a semi-auto? I responded with a very respectful,"" yes sir, sorry I didn't see that"" and he pointed out a single rule which i believed didn't state that you must only have a single round in a magazine. One round at a time simply means one round fired at a time, no high rate of fire or full auto, got it right!?!, and he continued to speak to me as if we were children and explained to READ THE RULES. I was highly agitated when he turned presented it the way he did to me and found out I had to take out my magazine to place one round in to reload every time. I should requested my money back for myself and friend and drove to another range. -I've been to many ranges across the United States and am avid shooter with quite a bit of firearms knowledge (former weapons specialist in the military who travels the world and encounters all types of foreign weapons). This is the worst range i've ever been to after my poor customer service experience. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RANGE TO ANYONE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE AND OPPRESSED ADULT WHO MUST BE SLOW AND NEED THE HIGHEST SUPERVISION. TERRIBLE RANGE!!! more

RE: LOCAL RANGE! 4/17/2012

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RANGE! Maximum distance Non-Members - 100 yards, Membership fees ""OUTRAGEOUS"" - $325.00 Facilities - Mediocre LOCAL RECOMMENDED RANGES (Non-Membership): Renton Fish & Game Club - Rifle, Shotgun, Handgun 50/100/200 Yards Issaquah Sportsman - Rifle, Shotgun, Handgun 50/100 Yards If you roll the dice against my advice... you can expect extremely poor and condescending know-it-all behavior from the range masters to ""Club"" members regardless if solicited or not; despite demonstrating years of responsible safe gun handling skills. The Range Staff clearly lacks not only customer service but basic human interaction skills such as critical reasoning when interpreting their draconian and unclear Range Rules which I maintain are both asinine and arbitrarily enforced. Additionally, they demonstrate an inherent lack of tact and awareness of personal boundaries by pestering those who reasonably interpret and adhere to the Posted Range Rules and wish to remain undisturbed while shooting. Range staff display the typical ""OPPRESSIVE"" culture and attitudes so frequently demonstrated in the Northwest. The staff demonstrates the stereotypical characteristic of individual(s) with manifold layers of Napoleon Complex. Power trips experienced are similar to that of an overly authoritarian security guard; who's been repetitively refused entry into Law Enforcement on psychological grounds. Additionally, they exhibit an inability to reasonably and responsibly exercise good decision making judgment interpreting their own Range Rules. Excuses offered from other ""REVIEWS""... (i.e. the range is in a residentail area) is ""HOGWASH"". Both (Renton Fish & Game Club) and (Issaquah Sportsman Club) are in residential areas as well. In fact, (Issaquah Sportsman Club) is also right next to Issaquah High School and they allow 10 round clips and rapid fire at 25, 50, 100 yards. It is striking & noteworthy to point out... they have never experienced the problems which Kenmore Range suggests its avoiding with its strict ""ONE ROUND IN THE CHAMBER"" policy. It just boils-down to which Range treats their Patrons as mature responsible adults. Clearly, Kenmore - DOES NOT! Of course, if you enjoy being treated as an adolescent; subjected to passive-aggressive, authoritarian behavior, then Big Thumbs-Up for this Range. more
