The Kelsey Museum of Archaeology, located at 434 South State Street, is part of the University of Michigan, and just to the west of the central campus.
It is a hidden gem, and free of charge.
Kids will love the ancient artifacts in the small museum, including a real mummy, as well as sculptures and other material objects.
Special exhibits run throughout the year as well.
Tours for school groups take kids into the basement of the museum for a behinds the scenes tour.
