Best

Since I was already doing a review for another experience, I figured to give these people a Thumbs Up!!

Worst

Let's see- they forgot my order, then brought the wrong thing, then accused me of not paying my bill as I was leaving. Sheesh.

Always fun 6/4/2003

Every time I go to Kells all troubles of the world stay at the massive ten foot doors. The music is fun the people are nice and the beer is exquisit. I buddy and I try and go there as often as we can afford and every time that we do we have a blast. He is non dancer that sits jokes and drinks beer I am the type that is up ska dancing infront of the band. The fact that there is no smoking makes the place even more attractive because you have all the fun of a bar without leaving and smelling like the bar. Pros: Non-smoking, dancing, happy go lucky crowd Cons: cover charge, expensive, can't talk with music more

Kell Yeah! 5/14/2003

Kells has got to be the best bar in Portland. The awesome music makes you bemoan the fact that there really isn't that much of a dance floor. The food was great, especially the crab cakes, and they serve real fish&chips, not the gross stuff we all grew up with. The staff was great, friendlier than I've met elsewhere so far. The atmosphere is heady--once you walk in, you're ready for fun. Kells is also one of the most diverse bars I've seen--I'm pretty sure that every single native Irish, Scottish and British person that is currently living in or visiting Portland frequents this bar. Overall, my experience rates an 11 out of a scale from 1-10. Pros: Inexpensive, Great service, Great food+atmosphere Cons: Lack of Parking, No dancefloor more

Best Pub in Town!!! 3/15/2003

Kell's has THE BEST fish n' chips in Oregon! I've gone to many resturants and Kell's wins. I love the atmosphere. I only wish that all states have a Kell's Irish Pub! Pros: Best food more

Kells 1/9/2003

Kells is an amazing place; it fully captures the Dublin-pub atmosphere. more

watch the glasgow celtic 12/18/2002

i was pleasently suprised to find that kells shows all of the scottish premier league games that the glasgow celtic play. seemingly having more expat irish and scottish frequent there than any other bar ive been to in portland, it adds that much more color to the same old bar crowd. you can only stand the english yobs and knobs for so long. the food is wonderful, the staff friendly . more

Kells is Kells, wherever you go 10/28/2002

Nice enough. Good pint of Fat Tire and various other brews on tap. Watched part of the Notre Dame football game. Bartender was good - so was service. Pros: Good service, Friendly staff, Good beer choice more

Great Music - Mediocre Service 10/16/2002

Though the servers are friendly enough the place seemed a bit upscale or snobby to me. The service is mediocre and when the place gets busy the service deteriorates badly. more

Great experience 8/20/2002

Very Crowded but still worth the wait. Very Nice settings with just the right atmosphere. Needs a little better ventilation, if you know what I mean. Pros: Atmosphere, People, Decor Cons: Crowed, Service was slow more

Irish as hell 8/8/2002

good fun, good times, good people, food ok, women good looking, time to go more

Frat Boy paradise 8/5/2002

I just find this place to be crowded with horrible acoustics along with mediocre Irish bands. I can see if I was 21 it might be a good time, but I find the prices a bit high for Portland. I prefer to get my drink on elsewhere. more

Guinness and the curry are tops 7/21/2002

Nice atmosphere and lots of choices for drinks. The scotch selection is awesome, but you can't go wrong with Guinness. The Chicken Curry with Chips sounds strange but is great. Some nights have Irish music to add some fun. Cigar room downstairs. more
