Kells has got to be the best bar in Portland. The awesome music makes you bemoan the fact that there really isn't that much of a dance floor. The food was great, especially the crab cakes, and they serve real fish&chips, not the gross stuff we all grew up with. The staff was great, friendlier than I've met elsewhere so far. The atmosphere is heady--once you walk in, you're ready for fun. Kells is also one of the most diverse bars I've seen--I'm pretty sure that every single native Irish, Scottish and British person that is currently living in or visiting Portland frequents this bar. Overall, my experience rates an 11 out of a scale from 1-10.
Pros: Inexpensive, Great service, Great food+atmosphere
Cons: Lack of Parking, No dancefloor
