Keeven (New Haven,MO)...ABYSMAL EXPERIENCE!!\r
\r
They installed a geothermal ground source system in March 2008.. From day 1 it sounded like a trashing machine. and with bills 30-40% higher than houses with conventional equipment\r
\r
After the first summer of repeated calls and little or no reponse except that they made fun of me and insulted my intelligence I resorted to contacting the mnfg. \r
\r
the mfg steered my to the distrubutor.. .\r
\r
It cost $250 to have co X evalutate my situation, plus $150 for a blower test and a infared test of my insulation...\r
.\r
Insulation checked out fine... the installation of geothermal system fell short....\r
\r
Keeven grudgingly came back at distributors insistance to address problems.. \r
\r
Made less noise but still not operating efficiently. 2009-2010\r
\r
My system is 21/2 years old, bills were 40% higher than projected ... \r
\r
Nov 2010... system not functioning when it got cold.... NOT HAPPY!!!\r
\r
Butterfly Energy Works recommended COMPANY X..they've been great so far..\r
\r
system has 1/3 the return air capacity required. \r
1/2 the freon leaked out \r
very little pressure in my geo thermal loops.. \r
My system lost usable life... \r
Poor/shoddy installation was their assessment! \r
\r
Mr Keeven down right vile and most rude!!!!\r
\r
one of many issues.... discovered one year post installation, the wrong water heater had been installed by plumber..Mike blamed me.....\r
\r
Said ""If I wanted him to hold my hand and babysit me through out the installation then I would have had to pay him a consulting fee to talk with the other subs"".. \r
\r
actually said that to me Nov 18, 2010.\r
\r
Excuse me... it's his installation and HIS reputation, .. as a professional HE SHOULD HAVE COORDINATED WITH THE PLUMBER AND BUILDER.... and he just didn't give a (&(^!!! \r
\r
Does that show a competent professional that oversees a quality installation.... NO! and a bad attitude!\r
\r
Geo thermal is supposed to be whisper quiet... Mine.. a thrashing machine... still makes way more noise than other geothermal units I have seen and heard... and those owners have bigger houses than mine and really inexpensive electric bills!!\r
\r
Keeven cut corners and didn't put in the anit vibration pad according mnf spec... Claimed the electric conduit was vibrating and blamed the electrician for putting in the wrong conduit..\r
\r
Well physics 101 ... the geo thermal unit was shaking like crazy making the conduit vibrate against the duct work..\r
\r
Still this year Mike claims it wasn't in the specs to install anti vibration pads.....till after my unit was installed ... He LIED!!.. it has been in FHP""s specs since the 1980's... \r
\r
This whole situation is not resolved.. I have spent $1000 post installation to try and get this figured out. I will take them to court to be made whole $$ on all my losses!.\r
\r
I thought I was doing the GREEN thing when building my house and this has been a nightmare... I've only just touched on some of the issues...\r
\r
Do not do business with them ... buyer beware!\r
\r
PS... last year Mike had the audacity to send me a bill for replacing the conduit (that wasn't to blame)... I did not pay it and will never pay it. I have spent not less than 40-50 hours of my time and $$$ post install to try and figure all of this out and and all I can say is avoid Keevens!\r
\r
It is projected that to make this system 'right' will cost me in the neighborhood of $5000.... you wouldn't be happy either friends so just beware!!!\r
\r
Will update after Monday when detailed analysis is performed by co X and the distributor!!!!\r
\r
BUYER BEWARE... GET EVERYTHING..... I MEAN EVERYTHING IN WRITING!!!!! TALK TO OTHER PEOPLE WHO HAVE THIS KIND OF SYSTEM AND FIND OUT ABOUT THEIR BILLS ETC... \r
\r
DO YOUR HOMEWORK!!!! I THOUGHT I HAD.... SO CALL BUTTERFLY ENERGY WORKS FOR THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS..... THEY ARE NOT CONTRACTORS BUT DEAL WITH ONLY THE BEST ONES!!!!!!!
