Keely's Hair Salon

For the past 15 years, i've been cutting my own hair, due to several bad experiences from so called professional stylists. After much deliberation, I decided to face my fear and searched the internet for a salon that was close to my home with a good reputation. Since Keely's had overall excellent reviews, I made an appointment. and am so glad I did. Megan greeted me immediately and read my mind. She knew exactly what I wanted before I opened my mouth. She took a lot of time in the cut that was just what I wanted and needed. (Don't expect a rush job. Megan is a perfectionist.) My hair feels and looks fabulous. Everyone at the salon is so nice and friendly, and they never leave you with a bad haircut. They always make sure you are completely happy with your hair, and they are totally affordable!! I have really thick and hard to work with hair, but Meg always makes it look great. My boyfriend, who had hair down past his shoulders, had to get his hair cut off for work, so he went to Keely's. He was very fond of his long hair and was very upset that he had to cut it off, but they did a great job and he loved it! Pros: Nice people and Great Hair :) Cons: None. Keely's is fantastic! more

I moved to Maryland from Michigan about a year and a half ago...I was looking for a place to get my hair done and after several terrible attempts at generic salons that left me looking like my terrible 4th grade school photo, I decided to try Keely's simply out of convenience of location. After going to Keely's I will never go anywhere else. I got the most amazing haircut- which in and of itself was a not small feat. I have extremely thick hair and lots of body. It is very deceiving to cut because it can look like a good cut wet and be terrible once it is dry. My whole life I have struggled to find a good stylist. Suzanne is extremely thorough and she always makes me look amazing. I have been getting compliments on my hair at least weekly since I started going to Keely's! This salon may be a nice hometown place to go, but they are so friendly and welcoming of everyone. The ladies there are always friendly and talkative, and they truely do their best to meet your every need. Suzanne always talks with me about my needs and if there is a product I need that the salon doesn't have in stock, she will special order it or even pick it up for me. This is a place that has something for everyone! I love my trendy bob, but they also know how to do the more conservative style if that's what you like too. These people need to educate themselves more on what organic is. I don't think they really know. They were also unprofessional and rude or should I say flat out mean. I would rather just go to a real salon and pay the same or a few more dollars and have the people treat me kinder or even hair cuttery which often has more class. The hair was ok. Hopefully they will improve so they don't send everyone home crying later. I hate to write this here but its the truth. If they rebudle and perhaps consider treating their customers nicer I will remove this review. These people need to visit some real salons or even barbers and watch how things are run and how the staff behaves. I am have been going to see Meg and the talented ladies at Keely's for several years now. I have found first and foremost no matter who does my hair i always leave looking and feeling stellar! The ladies at Keely's have an eye for color and cut and they use it to make everyone who comes in look and feel great. I have taken my hair from red to blonde and back and the amazing part is that I have loved every color I have gotten done, and I am VERY picky about my hair. (and people BELIEVE I am natural redhead!) I recently got married and Megan made my hair look like a fairytale princess with a touch of elegance and class. Lindsey made my bridesmaids look amazing as I couldn't have felt more beautiful on my special day. I HIGHLY recommend Keely's to anyone who wants to look like a million bucks without spending it. Keely's Hair Salon is truly the best you will find. I live in Alexandria, Virginia and travel to Pasadena on a regular basis to get my hair done because I wouldn't dream of going anywhere else. Megan gave me the perfect new haircut last October and I still get compliments! Keely's is so much better than some generic chain that doesn't take the time to get to know you or understand your individual needs. I agree with the reviewers that said that Keely's is a friendly and creative salon. I could go on and on about Keely's, but I need not do that. All of the many, many compliments that I have gotten on both my color and cuts done by Megan have said enough. Just two days ago I got a compliment at a doctor's office that I had never even been to before. As far as the products go, I have found new and interesting products that Megan has reccomended that I can use even with skin sensitivities. Go there. Pros: color, cut, service, friendly more

They claim to be Eco-Friendly, they are not. They had many products that are filled with methyl parabens, and sulfates. They dont put their combs in barbacide between clients, and they didn't clean their brushes. I was a new customer, and Megan sent me back to be shampooed with out even talking to me or looking at my hair. The owner (Keely)was constantly sticking her nose and offering her ""expert"" opinion on what I wanted, she was way off. I will never have my hair done there again. The place was dirty, and the bathroom was absolutely GROSS!!!!! The shampoo capes smelled like mildew, it was really gross. They didn't even sweep up the hair when they were dont cutting. I love this salon. Great customer service! I moved to MD in 2004 and bounced around to different salons until I found Keely's. I haven't gone anywhere else in four years and never will! They're great people, really welcoming, super friendly salon. They do make you feel like one of the family. You'll get an awesome cut and color for a great price. They offer natural organic products, hair extensions, a makeup and skincare line. They recycle everything AND they also donate to locks of love. Keely, Megan, and Suzanne have done my hair over the years and I have been extremely happy every time. People always complement me on my hair and I owe it to the ladies at Keely's. Having just moved from the city and missing my old salon (the eco-friendly Sprout in Hampden), I was thrilled to find Keely's. The place has a casual, neighborhood feel--it's family-run--and everyone is very sociable and interested in your hair and overall style (we compared tattoos!). Suzanne did a great job on my short, pixie-cut hair. She has short hair herself, so you know she knows what you need. The price was just right, and the environment benefits too: all hair is swept up and sent to make mats to absorb oil spills, saving wildlife. Rock on! more

this is the best place I've found to get my hair done. They always are frindly and even if you don't what to do with your hair. They come up with something great that looks good on you. Plus they keep tract of their customers. If you find a stylest you like she can remember what you had done the last time and what tou need done when you go in and they don't try and sell you anything that you don't need. I really like to go there and no where else. their prices are great too. more
