Worst Sushi EVERRRRRRRRRRR! 5/30/2008

My boyfriend loves sushi and he's from out of town. He was here visiting and I wanted to take him somewhere awesome and thought, 'What better place for sushi than Japantown?! Right?' Oh my buddha, I was so wrong. Pros: miso (but NOT worth it) Cons: customer service, sushi more

Good deal on sushi 3/11/2008

Great sushi place, prices are really good. Never tried eel until I went here it was great. friendly staff, pretty busy everytime I've been there but got great service. Pros: people, service, food Cons: parking more

Worst Sushi Restaurant! 8/15/2007

This place is gross! My husband and I came here to have dinner one night and one of the Sushi Chefs crawled under the sushi boat to get behind the counter to cut fish. As he did, his hands touched the floor and he went strait to cutting fish, without washing his hands! This place is not sanitary and the food wasn't that great. Not Recommended if you like your food clean and safe! Cons: Unsanitary, Parking, Food more

Filling and Tasty 3/11/2006

It's menu is what you'd expect from a Japanese restaurant around here. The quality is, too. Atmosphere is fine. I like to go for lunch when I'm feeling hungry. I leave feeling nourished and satisfied. more

Kazoo Japanese Restaurant 11/22/2005

Kazoo is one of a most popular japanese restaurant in japantown. I can get full without spending so much money. The food is americanized but the taste is good too. The service is good as well. more

Good food annd good price 9/26/2005

I like this restaurant because they offer decent food with good price. Unlike some japanese food, I can easily eat full without spending too much money. We only spent about 15-20 dollars a person. The sushi is delicious and their service is also very good. I would definitely come here again and I would also recommend my friends to come here. PROS: nice food and nice price CONS: none more

Good sushi for a good price 7/23/2005

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Japantown. I come here usually twice a month. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. Depending on the time of day you go, the service will either be stellar or mediocre--the best time to go, obviously, is not right before closing time. The sushi is delicious and well made, and it's not especially pricy. I've never spent over 20 dollars a person here. If you sit at the sushi bar, they bring a warm moist towel for you to wipe your hands with--a nice touch. PROS: Friendly staff, good prices, delicious food CONS: Sometimes the service is spotty, cramped interior more

Decent food 7/12/2005

Kazoo has decent Americanized Japanese food. They have a good selection of rolls, donburi, combination plates, and lots of fried food. Their love boat (a combination that can include various items) can make three people very full and comes out in a very dramatic and beautiful wooden boat. Expect to spend 10-15 dollars a person. Servers are nice and look very cute in kimonos. more

Fresh Sushi at Reasonable Price 7/9/2005

My husband and I were stuffed after only having spent $35 excluding drinks and taxes (and he eats a lot). The sushi was fresh and the portions were reasonable. We sat at the bar and I recommend bypassing the sushi boat (especially when the place is about to close) because the sushi we ordered from the chef were so much more fresh. The chefs were very accomodating. Pros: Fresh Sushi, Quick Service, Good Value more

Big menu, Big in Flavour, Low on cost. 4/15/2005

Kazoo is a friendly traditional restraunt. It is simple in ambiance but it is still really nice and cozy. The menue is vast with the greatest selections of various plates and appitisers. The sushi is fresh and made to order. My number one choice for japanese cuisine is always Kazoo. It is also really great if you are unfamiliar with the culture or food; the staff is helpfull and will explain every term and dish for you. Fun place to take friends or family and the sushi boats at the sushi bar make even a quick stop for lunch more than feasible. Pros: Service oriented, Low Cost , Quality Cons: Sometimes Busy more

Best Sushi in Japantown - San Jose 5/12/2004

Great Sushi! 1/20/2004

In a land of way to many sushi restaurants, I think Kazoo is the best and hope you guys stay there forever. No one compares and I had a great time talking with the sushi chefs. More people should come to Japantown and check you out. I know I will be coming back again and again. Pros: Presentation, Funny Chefs, Great Service more
