Glad they finally got this guy! In 1983 I was hired to be the terminal manager for the Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse & Elmira districts. I met Celani (he called himself ""Dr. Celani"" at the Old Springfield Illinois Airport, where I (and other managers representing 65 major US cities were sent for orientation and instructions to rent terminal space, purchase office furniture, and hire drivers. Everything was done on bogus credit, none of us were ever compensated. They charged our flights to Springfield via Chicago as well as the hotel (and told us to live it up and utilize room service). I rented space near the airport and hired the drivers, the charter jets flew the packages around at a cost of about $450,000 per week, but after about 2 weeks someone from the Springfield Airport Hub called to tell me to lay off all the drivers (a hard thing to do because some of them quit other jobs to join me at KPI), close down the office/terminal because there was no money and that Celani ran off with all the Kayport Package Express (KPI) cash assets. I wrote to ABC, NBC, and CBS news at the time, but they were not interested in pursuing the story. There was nothing on the news about this fiasco at that time. I still have all the literature and KPI stickers, which I kept because not some would even believe my story. KPI just came to mind today for some reason, so I googled Celani and found this. What an experience with KPI!
