Had it with the corny Kabuki-type places and their flashy knife acts? This place has real food, not the mass-produced stuff. Don't be put off by Kayo's humble location in a dingy strip mall.\r

We went early on a quiet evening, didn't order sushi (following the advice of other reviewers) and found the service to be delightful. C.J., our server, was helpful, knowledgeable, and gracious. Perhaps on busier nights, there is not enough wait staff?\r

Our shrimp and eggplant hot plate was delicous and perfectly prepared. Dessert, chocolate-ginger ice cream (apparently home-made) was a taste adventure. Perhaps a little too adventurous for some of us, but interesting.\r
