Katz In The Cradle

I ordered a crib and put a deposit down on February 29th. I was told it would be delivered in about 3 months. Here it is about 5 months later and they are still givibng me the runaround as to when we will get it. I will never order from this company again! more

Neil Katz is a dishonest business man, and has ZERO regard for child safety. His shady workers delievered my 5 year olds loft bed (it only took 3 months to get) and due to laziness installed one bolt for every 2 required, and took the extra bolts with them. I was not at home when it was installed & the missing pieces were from the side of the bed against the wall. When I noticed (within 1st week) and called him he said he would send me the missing bolts. It's now months later. My daughter's expensive bed might as well be tossed out as it is not safe in it's current state. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CHILD'S SAFETY DO NOT PURCHASE A THING FROM NEIL KATZ!!!! more

Mr. Katz is a wonderful, personable, and honest man. I have had only the most pleasant interactions with him and I have appreciated his patience with my many questions over the past couple of months. I have finally ordered my baby furniture and he was willing to take a small deposit (about 10%) until delivery and he is willing to wait to deliver until after the baby arrives. His prices are below list price and he charges a nominal delivery and assembly fee ($35-$40) in comparison to the $100 and $200 range. As I just ordered, I cant post about the actual product and delivery process yet, and I am afraid that I may not have the time after the baby's arrival. If I dont post again, please assume that my first impressions continue to be true. more

The store is packed pretty tightly with items, so shopping there can be a bit daunting if you don't know what you're looking for ahead of time. The prices though make it worth searching through the cramped quarters. more

Awful. I ordered crid and dreesser he took deposit and said will deliver in 4 weeks, but its been almost 8 weeks and no answer, they dont even bother calling you with order updates. So i have been calling them 2-3 times a week and their answer is "i have to check and call you back" they never call you back! It has been very annoying experience, although my friends had no problem. Well, im going to try to cancel the order since im due in a couple of weeks and cant have uncertainties at this point. We have purchased all the children's furniture - from cradles...to cribs...to twin beds. Mr. Katz carries the BEST quality furniture and gives the best prices available. Most of all, he is always available to advise and he wants his customers to be satisfied with their purchases. He beats every internet price and delivers!!! more

I keep going back because no one can beat their prices. They are honest and friendly. The store doesn't look like much from the outside, but they have so much furniture/strollers/etc. crammed inside. I bought my single and double strollers, crib & baby furniture there. I even bought a new Ameda Purely Yours breast pumb for under $100 (retails over $200). Can't say enough about it! more

If you are looking to save a SIGNIFICANT amount of money on the exact same items that they sell at Buy Buy Baby, this is the place to go. The store is cluttered and has very limited sales help.It is not fancy and can be overwhelming unless you know in advance exactly what you want. We went to Katz in the Cradle (KITC) after diligent shopping and picking out exactly what we wanted at Buy Buy Baby. We saved over $1,100! The pieces came in 4 weeks early. The owner of the store called me to let me know that 1 piece came in damaged so he was sending it back to the manufacturer. It obviously took extra time, but I appreciated the call. I agree with the other reviewers that the owner of the store is a bit rough around the edges, however, we smiled, were friendly and he was pleasant. I am planning on ordering a small bookcase soon and have recommended KITC to various friends who all had positive experiences. If you are a good shopper and want/need to save money - I highly recommend this place. more

I love it if you know what you want to purchase, go in with item numbers and prices and they will beat them. It is a hole in the wall and I wouldn't even touch anything forget about sitting down. Know what you want go in and order it. you don't shop around in there.They did save me $1,200. more

I bought all my baby's stuff at this nice "hole in the wall". It is off the beaten path, a little dingy, confusing and stuffy, but they get the job done. If you want good service and not to spend a ""load of money, you can go here. They will try to find what you want if it's not in their storage (which is not likely) and the service is quick and so far reliable. I like the staff and the selection is unbeatable. Ask for Mr. Katz by name. He runs the show and his staff is as knowledgeable as he. I recommend this shop if you're willing to get a little dusty and do a little detective work yourself. It's not a cushy experience, but for the quality and price, you can't complain. more

As one may infer from the name of the store, Katz in the Cradle carries a huge selection of infant furniture, strollers, cribs, dressers, rocking chairs, and so much more. This store is crowded with all sorts of merchandise, including cribs, day beds, box springs and mattresses, and their selection is very large.\r \r They also carry smaller items including: Mobiles, harnesses, some small toys, changing tables, pads for cribs, changing tables, baby walkers and much, much more. They will order any crib you want in any price range. They have rocking chairs and you can choose from a large number of samples for fabric, color and type.\r \r They are very competitively priced, we found them to have the best prices on the merchandise we wanted after shopping in many places. They deliver and set up the items for you.\r \r Mr. Katz even remembers his customers and his merchandise years later, we had trouble converting our crib to a toddler bed, and a simple phone call had him instructing us over more

I should have realized that these guys are scam artists from the start of my experience. I called in to inquire whether they can get me a particular line that I saw at Buy Buy Baby. They said yes. They would not quote me over the phone and told me rudely to come in to the store. Fine, I thought. Well, it's not a store, it's an office like space - they don't have a single line or collection - as they dont' have a showroom. Then they quoted me a price much higher then everywhere else. I still bought from them, because a few years ago, a close friend bought from them and I liked their furniture. So, the owner told me it would take 6 weeks to deliver this particular line. Well guess what? It's been 6 months now - and still nothing. And, they are refusing to give me my money back. They keep promising week after week that it will arrive.... I have already filed a small claims case in local court against these scammers. I AM WARNING YOU - DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THIS AWFUL PLACE. PROS: NONE C more

I passed by this store so many times before I ever went in because it looked like they had nothing in there, but I was amazed by how many different types of strollers and baby furniture they have. They even have the hard to find Bugaboo. It looks like a dinky little store, but the prices are great. The sales people were also extremely helpful. The only thing that's not great is their return policy, because you can't return furniture and anything else, they will give you a store credit. more

Katz in the Cradle is a terrific store that you can rely on for all your baby furniture and baby gear needs. The staff is very friendly and will go out of their way to help you or order an item for you. They have all the latest products available. They also have a technician who works in the store that is available to repair baby stuff such as a stroller, even if you bought it elsewhere. They have pretty good prices too. more
