A family operation which takes pride in serving the customers right. All you haters out there.....Shut the F....UP! more

Oh SO Yummy & Healthy 10/27/2011

I went to Kathy May's with a co-worker today and we ordered off the healthy menu. O-M-G... the chicken wrap is to die for. This is my new favorite wrap! I literally ate every bite off my plate. It was so damn tasty! My colleague ordered the turkey burger and she said it was one of the best burgers she had in a long time. Kathy May's is a cute family style restaurant. I will come back one weekend and try their breakfast. The breakfast menu looked like it could be tasty. more

Try the new Healthy Menu - YUM!!! 10/22/2011

My husband and I have been going there for years - good, friendly service, excellent menu selection. But just had to do a review to rave about their new ""Healthy Menu"" didn't know cutting calories could taste so good! and be so reasonably priced - I mean a salmon entree for $9.99 - HELLO!!! and the whole grain pancakes with turkey sausage and egg beaters - YUM!!! they have sugar free/fat free dressings and syrup etc. too. Lots to try, but I keep going back for that salmon!!! more

Great Breakfast! 10/18/2011

My husband and I went to Kathy May's last Saturday for breakfast. It was very good and definitely home style cooking. I ordered the Vegetarian Omelette and my husband ordered the Waffle Combo, both were great choices. Food was great, the service was good! more

Order the chicken fried steak 10/15/2011

We go to Kathy May's every time we are looking for variety and home cooking. My husband orders the chili spaghetti and I order the chicken fried steak. One nice feature is menu items in three portion sizes - small, medium or large. My daughter frequently orders breakfast and likes the variety of breakfast items, because she always has something to choose from. The chocolate fudge cake comes in a huge slice and is very good. more

My favorite is the Chili Spaghetti 9/26/2011

Can't say enough about the Chili Spaghetti. I'll have the large size with fresh, cold, crispy salad and garlic cheese bread. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. I'll be in there soon, if you want a bite. I might share, but maybe not. more

GREAT FOOD AND SERVICE! 9/26/2011

This is a great restaurant. I love this place and the prices are reasonable. The $3.99 weekday breakfast special with pancakes, eggs and bacon is delicious and a great value. The $5.99 lunch special is a quarter pound burger with fries and a soda. It is the best burger I ever ate. I hope they keep those specials. We always feel welcome and at home. I look forward to our next visit. more

Amazing 8/31/2009

I love kathy mays and have been going there since I moved to hb (about 6 yrs) I am always pleased with the food and the service plus there's always coupons by one get one free so it is great on the bank acct. Thank you kathy mays. Great family owned and run business. more

Best home style cooking in the OC!! 12/29/2008

My husband and I frequent Kathy May's about five timesa week. Pros: Every thing and every one! more

Overpriced............ 10/27/2008

I visited this restaurant and cannot give it a good review. First of all, my Roast Beef dip with french fries totalled $8.99 without the drink. The soda was $2.49. This is way overpriced. I can buy two 2-liters at the grocery store for this price. Then you add the $2 tip and now I am at $15 for a meal that is actually worth about $6. With this bad economy, I would suggest that all avoid this overpriced restaurant. Pros: nice waitresses Cons: overpriced during this bad economy more

best food in town 12/2/2006

The peach cobbler is out of this world, just like mama used to make.MY hamburger was cooked to perfection. My husband loved his country skillet. The best part was the great service. It was nice to find a place that serves breakfast, lunch,or dinner anytime.I definetly reccommend this restaurant, but only if you like fresh ,homestyle cooking with great service. Pros: great parking more

NOT WORTH IT! 10/26/2006

So we heard that Kathy May's had great reviews and good old homestyle cooking. We ended up with a mediocre hamburger that you could've gotten from AM/PM, soup that tasted like it came out of a can and club sandwiches that my 2 year old would need two of. The worst part of all is that we had an entertainment book coupon, that they informed us after we had eaten, that they had just recently decided to change the terms of. In order to get the buy 1 get 1 free we had to buy a dessert and everyone had to get drinks. So, we decided to order the homemade peach cobbler hoping to end the meal on a better note but it ended up tasting like a bowl of butter with microwaved peach cobbler that was cold on one side and scalding on the other. Talk about kicking you when you're down. Maybe our taste buds aren't old enough. Wish we could have that hour back. Pros: Ambience Cons: Food more

Great Food 10/31/2005

I had the Spinach Mushroom Omelet. That was absolutely the best omelet that I have ever had. The hashbrowns were wonderful. I also had a biscuit and gravy and it melted in my mouth. Kathy May's is absolutely the best breakfast spot around. Our waitress Dawn was so wonderful and friendly. I just love the home town atmosphere. Great food and Great Atmosphere. Pros: Great Prices, Great Food Quality, Great Atmosphere more

Great Food 10/30/2005

The food at Kathy May's was excellent. I love steaks and I had the best steak that I have ever had. It was served on a hot plate so it was steaming when I received it. It was very tender and juicy and just enough meat. The ranch dressing was wonderful. It was a Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing just like Mom used to make. The mashed potatoes were home made and wonderful. The garlic cheese toast was terrific. I have even been there for breakfast and I am totally hooked on the Huevos Rancheras. The sauce was the best that I have ever had. Great environment and Great Food. more

Awesome Place 10/30/2005

They have the best Burgers in Town. I got a Bacon Cheeseburger and it was EXCELLENT!!! I also had a hot fudge cake for dessert. It was wonderful. My girlfriend order the BBQ Rib sandwich. She hasn't stopped talking about it. She tried the peach cobbler for dessert and she has already asked to buy a sheet of it for Thanksgiving. more

My new favorite restaurant! 10/28/2005

My family and I had a great experience at Kathy May's Restaurant. Our server, April, was very fast and efficient. She made us laugh and kept us entertained throughout our meal. The kids really enjoyed their meal. My son told me that his burger was the best he ever ate. I was happy to see that they serve breakfast all day. I had a spinach omlette and it was cooked just the way I like it, perfect! My husband ordered the peach cobbler for dessert. I took a bite and it tasted like a little bit of heaven. It was sweet with crust on top and served with vanilla ice cream. I am going to buy a whole tray for my family to enjoy at Christmas dinner. Pros: high quality food, excellent service, good value more

Unpleasant Experience... 10/8/2005

Went out of my way to drive there and came away disappointed. Ordered the spinach, mushroom and cheese omelet in which I found two pieces of some kind of thin woody stem like material that I almost choked on half way through the omelet. Needless to say I pushed the plate away from me after that. The 'country potatoes' were way too greasy and had little flavor. The waitresses seemed rather 'detached', if you will, to me. Not a place I would recommend to friends or family, and definately will not return. more

Great family resturant 6/15/2005

BEST SPLIT PEA IN TOWN!!!!! 6/15/2005

I had a fantastic experience at Kathy May's! The food was great, the service was awesome and fast, and best of all the people make you feel right at home. I tried so many different foods there, (such a wide variety) but my absolute favorite was the home made split pea soup. Kathy May makes this herself, and it was the best I've ever had! If anyone is looking for a cozy, friendly and delicious family environment to take the whole family, I definetly recommend Kathy May's. Also you can always get up to date coupons on the restaraunt website, so a great price is always being offered! :) mmmmm YUM! Pros: Delicious, Friendly, Family Oriented more
