"Dr. Katherynn Tran earned her Bachelor of Science in psychology in 2002, graduating summa cum laude at the University of Houston. In 2006, she received her Doctor of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center McGovern Medical School. She completed the Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton Family Medicine Residency Program in Oceanside, Calif., in 2009.
From 2009 to 2011, Dr. Tran served as a Family Medicine physician at the U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa, Japan, and as a member of the fleet surgical team deployed on the USS Essex. From 2011 to 2015, she served as Senior Medical Officer at the Naval Branch Health Clinic Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base in Fort Worth. This included 10 months as Department Head of Health Services. Dr. Tran also served as a Family Medicine physician at the John Bradley Branch Clinic in Quantico, Va., from May 2013 to August 2013.
