Worst yoga experience ever! 5/3/2007

I completely disagree with the other reviews especially about Dario. After two years of being away from yoga (I had 2 kids), I decided to try Annie's. What a big mistake! Unless you are a very experienced yogi who can do perfect poses and move through them at a very rapid pace, Dario will berate you the entire class. At one point, he came over to me and told me that I was doing the poses ""wrong."" I had never heard this in yoga! Dario continued to be impatient with me the entire class. By the way, I had called Annie's prior to coming to Dario's class to see if his class was the right one for me given the fact that I had not done yoga in awhile and was told ""yes."" I even explained that I had just given birth a couple of months ago at the beginning of the class. This is not a nurturing or accepting place to practice yoga. I will never go back. Cons: Dario is very judgmental more

best studio on the west coast! 10/13/2006

I have been to several Yoga studios in several cities; Annies Yoga is second to none! Dario is certainly one of the best instructors I have ever had the pleasure to work with. My practice improves every class I attend. In fact, I owe much of my practice to the encouragement, variety, and care that this Yoga studio provides! Pros: Rigourus, everchanging flow; they push, push Cons: Space is a somewhat dated; but thats hardly a distraction. more

A little oasis of bliss 1/31/2006

I love Annie's. Having tried about 9 or so other studios in the past, Annie's is by far my favorite. The first thing that grabs you about this place is how friendly everyone is...instructors and students. Of all the places I've done yoga, I've never been to a place where people actually talk to each other, they know each other by name, they help each other out. And this is the first yoga studio I've gone to where the instructors make jokes from time to time (they must know that it's an extra challenge maintaining a pose properly while your body shakes from laughter). One last gush: Their knowledge of poses seems infinite. In the 10 months I've studied there, I've beenintroduced to new poses just about every week...so I've never gotten bored. They brake the monotony and make you flex muscles you never knew you had. I love that. Pros: Friendly, Challenging, Variety more

Hidden Gem 11/7/2005

Annie's Yoga is the real deal. After an exhausting search for studio with excellent teachers (and a friendly atmosphere in the yoga room, a true rarity), I landed upon this wonderful place. I consistently notice a true physical and emotional lightening after finishing every one of the classes. And of course I can't say enough about Dario, an outstanding and caring instructor--he personally fine tunes your pose to help you 'get it right' or accommodate for physical limitations. Pros: Easy street parking, Cost-friendly, Uncrowded more

organic yoga 9/6/2005

if you like packed studios and a fashion scene, Annie's Yoga is NOT the place. i've tried many yoga studios and live in Santa Monica, a city filled with yoga studios on each block. Yet, I drive on the 405 through traffic just to pratice here. The studio is not huge and it doesn't have the greatest storefront but it has one of the best yoga instructors, Dario, who has been practicing for over 30 years. the classes are small and intimate - driven by word of mouth and not by commercialization. more

I love Annie's 7/7/2004

Annie's is a peaceful, down to earth yoga studio. The teachers are the very best! I have been reshaping my body and my life with the help of Annie's Pros: Good parking in back, inexpensive more
