I bought a ring for my fiance from Kannard Jewelers in Edmond. I was assisted by John Kannard who represented himself as the owner. He assured me that he only sells high quality merchandise.
Mr. Kannard was what I would describe as a ""fast talking"" salesperson.
I bought the ring which was a little over $5000.00 affter taxes.
My soon to be father-in-law became suspicious when I showed the ring to him. We went to an appraiser. We did not tell the appraiser where the ring came from. He simply looked at me and said I had been taken. The ring, as it turned out, was nothing more than worthless costume jewelry.
When I told the appraiser where I had gotten it, he said he knew of several other people who had been scammed by this man.
When I try to call Kannard, I get no where. I have spoken to him once and told him what happened. He said he would call me right back and never did. He has blocked my number from calling his phone. Even when I call from a different number and he answers, he hangs up when I tell him who it is. I went to the store and tried to talk to Mr. Kannard, and he threatened me bodily harm. I found out later he has a history of violence and has had protective orders against him.
I have emailed as well as sent letters.
He absolutely ruined what was supposed to be a memorable time in my life.
