Kani House

This is a busy, nicely decorated Japanese/Sushi restaurant. I am an aficionado of sushi and in Atlanta every Japanese/Sushi I try is compared to the best I have yet found - Sushi Yoshi (Norcross). The Miso Soup was good (not great) and the house salad small. Excellent was the tempura red snapper that was served as a welcome snack. Kani House's prices are 40% higher that what I pay for sushi/sashimi at Sushi Yoshi and though the portion of fish were large, the quality of was inferior: the salmon was not firm but slightly soft and it had a noticeable grainy texture. I had seven orders of sushi (no drinks) and I paid $33 + tip. Expensive for what I got Pros: Excellent tempura red snapper Cons: Sushi was subpar and the meal was pricy for what I got more

The worst sushi I have ever eaten!!!! I ordered a sushi combo roll. The lady over charged me on an order that was already over priced. I will never go back Pros: over priced. more

Typical Mall area ""Japanese"" like steakhouse. The food wasn't that good. The fried rice was salty. I can't imagine how people would ever come back to this place. They tried to be ""service"" oriented but failed. I love japanese food and this is far from being close. oh well, thats what one gets for driving out to the Mall out in the country. Pros: Chef was kinda funny, Parking was good, Cons: Scary ""urban"" outdoorsmen clan type people who think that this is really Japanese food. more

My wife and I went here for dinner. We did the hibachi dinner and had some sushi for an appetizer. The food was excellent. The chef and service were good also. I would recommend Kani for anyone who enjoys Japanese food. more

I was taken here for my birthday on May 7th. It was okay; however, I truly enjoy Benihanna better. Pros: Prompt seating - clean! Cons: I cannot give an explanation for the environment . more

I was just passing by Mall of GA and decide to stop by for dinner. The service was fine, but hibachi food was not as I expected. The guy did great performance, but overall...the food really had no taste. Steak was flavorless, even with teriyaki sauce, salmon very salty and still flavorless. Fried rice was plain.
