Kammel Excavating is a family owned business in its third generation of owners. It was started in 1945 by William Kammel. In 1959 the business was incorporated and renamed Kammel Excavating, Inc. Bill Kammel was well known in the community as a hard working and fair man. His daughter and son-in-law, Karen & Don Humm, and other son-in-law, Bob Glasgow all worked for the company, learning the trade from him. He owned and operated his business successfully until his retirement. At which time, the three of them purchased the company from him. Karen & Don Humm bought out Bob Glasgow in 1984 and their daughter Donna Humm started working for the company, learning many aspects of the business from them. Russell Flower also started working for the company in 1984 as a truck driver and equipment operator. Donna & Russell were married in 1986 and both continued to learn and work for Don & Karen Humm until June of 1998 when they purchased the company from them. Donna & Russ Flower continue to own & operate Kammel Excavating, Inc.
