I'm almost a homer for writing a review here, I'm here that often.\r \r I have been a lifelong athlete and about 2 years ago started taking fitness very seriously. I always considered myself in shape, and out of my friends, I'm always ""the jock"" or ""the one they'd call if they were in a fight"". I thought I was in good shape.\r \r Damn, was I wrong.\r \r I went to Next Level MMA and did a few Fighter Fitness classes. MMA Fitness I think it was, but with awesome people who will not let you fail but do not care about what you *think* your body is capable of - they'll get you to where they want you to be. I also dabbled in the evening kickboxing classes. After 2 days I was hooked -- not even joking, it was like I was fed a drug and went through withdrawal on the days I couldn't make it to the gym.\r \r For kickboxing, Ms Morales is brilliant and one of the best, but be prepared to a) know what you're doing before you start her class, and b) for your ego to be bruised (she is not for the constructive criticism-phobic). If you're starting out, Kai often teaches night classes and besides having the best mixes of any coach there (90s punk all night!), he is great at instructing beginners and you'll never feel like you're lost or clueless. He also sounds like the Count from Sesame Street, which is a hilarious bonus. Destiny and Kenneth teach during the day, which is nice because they both fight and they make it realistic for you. Destiny in particular is a super sweetheart. \r \r Ms. Morales and Kai do Kickboxing, and I can happily thank them that I've probably lost 5-8 lbs of fat since joining, and toned muscle in all the right places. They are devilish people though. You'll see what I mean.\r \r Finally, for all the ladies out there who don't know where to start, Destiny's Saturday kickboxing classes are where you need to be. She is amazingly talented, a wonderful teacher, and a lot of fun to be around. If you need a place to start, start with her. And if you want to get better, stay with her. \r \r There isn't a soul who works there that doesn't want you to feel at home or reach whatever goal you came in with. Literally, the gym is a family. Nothing more really needs to be said (and I think I've said enough already). \r \r Kai Next Level MMA will for sure change your life. more

have been training jiu jitsu for a bit now and I wanted to find a gym that would fit me a little better: I'm a young professional so I'm not exactly aiming to be a cage fighter. I also wanted to be able to train with someone who managed to teach on my level (read: I have no wrestling or mma experience) and encourage my flabby self to keep going back to the gym.\r \r I was really glad to have found Master Kai. From the start you see that he is a no frills guy who just loves to fight & teach. He's very approachable and not one of those biker tattoos looking fighters. He'll tell you that there are no secrets, just hard training. But he'll find ways to subtly encourage you to come back to training, even if that 150 LBS guy keeps mercilessly destroying you. And you'll realize this isn't part of his whole marketing scheme to get you to sign up: come talk to him after class, or hit him up for on Facebook, and he'll be glad to talk to you about your ""game"" and what you can do better. And most importantly he'll tell you about the things he went through as well, because when he started he had no fighting experience either. It's always a strange relief to hear someone else had such troubles!\r \r The classmates were also very nice--their experience ranged so I felt comfortable training with the new guys like me and the experienced ones. Anyone will tell you that learning mma is an experience where you both teach and learn, and i really felt like there was a small community here.\r \r The gym is also very clean, and that's not something you usually find in fight gyms, so I was very happy for that.\r \r I'd recommend this place to anyone wishing to start on their fighting journey. I'd recommend it to experienced people as well because, come on, the guy is a Hall of famer more

Kai Next Level Mixed Martial Arts is not at all what they seem .My girlfriend went there to find out about the school. The people at the school persuaded her to sign a contract using the 30day trail and 60 day money back guarantee which the never intend on living up to. When she got her 4yr olds schedule from daycare and after reviewing her financial situation she came to the conclusion that she was unable to take on the additional expense at this time. When she called the school after a week, she was constantly turned away. Then after only two weeks she received a bill for one month and stating she must fulfill the yearly contract or pay $1,800 for the term of the contract. when she visited the school the instructor told her there is no release from their contract. Mind you they advertise everywhere that they have a 30 day free trail yet they never even took one class and they also advertise a 60 day money back guarantee. I have already contacted the better business bureau and consumer affairs. I'm not a fan of bullies or people who prey on unsuspecting single moms. Times are hard and taking advantage of someone who is trying to keep their child safe and help build his or her self confidence.\r This is not the attitude of a reputable school. more
