Kadhai The Indian Wok

I would have rated this restaurant 5 star if I decided to write a review a month back. When I visited this restaurant month back, the food was really authentic South Indian with correct level of spice/hot. Today's visit really disappointing when I took my family to this Restaurant. It was watered down..uhm rather I should milked/creamed down version of Indian ? cooking ? Not sure what to call this. But when I decided to give feedback to the cashier, he plainly said that they can no longer make spicy because they have to please white customers !>>@>@?? And plainly said they don't care about Indian customers as they were only few who visits them...Have they forgotten that Indians are wait and try kind of people ? Only they believe in word of mouth marketing.. So that is why I decided to write this review. If there is not authenticity then who cares. I would surely see this restaurant going down .. The cashier didn't even show remorse when I said this will be my last visit...Nice ! It is upto you to experiment and find out yourself if you are one of the brave soul which is willing to take risks ;-) Pros: Not Authentic more

I'm always on the hunt for good vegetarian cuisine so through a bizarre twist of fate I found myself at Kadhai. Sometimes being lost works out just fine. Unlike my hometown, I find it rare to find an establishment with great food, service and the attention to detail that a family run business can offer. Being vegetarian limits my options but my dining experience was flavorful and aromatic. My wife with simpler carnivorous tastes loved her meal. I had huge concerns regarding her satisfaction but when her dinner got the ""two thumbs up"" I knew we'd be back. Next trip I plan to bring the kids to see if Kadhai can really pass the test. If you live in Raleigh and love Indian food, you know how limited our options are. Kadhai was formerly Royal India Express. Ownership has shifted twice and now lies in the very competent hands of the original CHEF! Although they are not very savvy from a marketing standpoint, the food is just fabulous. We take out every week, and are always thrilled with the depth of spices and luxe sauces. The butter chicken ordered hot is always right without too much heat spoiling the balance and the the Chicken Pasanda not available elsewhere in the Triangle is just superb. My husband and I actually fight over the Chana Peshawari ordered medium. It is just so nice! Breads are their specialty!! Garlic naan is better ""just out"" eating in, but good enough as take out as they package everything with such care. We always order extra rice because it is so fragrant and we eat it for two days! They are very family friendly!! My 3 and 8 year olds split the reshmi kabob and mango lassies and are always treated like princes and princesses! Go...enjoy a meal! They need the support of cultured Indian food critics like yourself!! Be sure to write them up after your lovely meal!! Raleigh needs more places like this!!! Pros: Fresh, high quality ingredients.
