Kabuto Japanese Steak House

I went there for my birthday. The service was horrible! They brought my sushi to me warm and when I told the waitress that I wouldn't eat warm raw fish(which is a serious health risk!) she gave me a nasty look and told me to ""try."" She talked down to me like I was a child and it took bringing the manager out to get me something that was edible. The prices are outrageous for the poor quality of food, service, and atmosphere. I could have had a better dinner at McDonald's! They ruined my birthday. I will never go there again and I recommend anyone looking for good steaks or good Asian food to go over to Sapporo's which is only about five minutes away. If you have the time to wait and wait. The food quality is not very good, the service is only ""ok"". Very traditional hibachi style. The chefs are like the lottery some good some not so good. They seem to have a lot of turn over with the chefs but a few have been there a while. If you are fortunate to get a good chef you will may enjoy your experience but not likley. I would recommend this occasionally if you like slow service and low quality meat but I prefer Fuji Japanese Steakhouse on Rivergate Parkway for quality food and great service. I went to kabutos in greensboro nc on saturday. Me and my guest sat for at least 20min before anybody notice us. When they did the waitress was very rude. First of all she didnt give us any water of offer us anything to drink. We end up going to the bar for mix drinks. when we ask her about it she replied im busy very rudely. She finally bought us some soup and salad which was horrible and know silverware. We finally ordered. after at least 45min when still had know food and when we asked about it she told us to chill out. my guest started to get angry she argue back with him repeatedly telling him to chill out. We ask for a manager and he act like he didn't care saying she is busy. We got up and left but still had to pay for our drinks which was $18.00. It was horrible I will never go back there again more

Besides the fact that the service was horrible, some weird looking creature crawled out of the grill after the chef had finished cooking. The worst part is, the server walked away with a surprised look and didn't come back until everyone had finished eating and handed me the bill which only had a 10% on it. When my wife and I moved to Hendersonvile in Februrary I assured her that I was sure there had to be at least one good Sushi Restaurant in Downtown Nashville that we could visit once a month or whenever we would be going out on the town. We took the kids to Kabuto's for a special outing and they absolutely loved it. The chef entertained them and they absolutely loved the food. All we heard for days after was how good it was and when were we going back. A great place for kids or for a romantic meal... I would highly recommend it. Pros: Great food more

Bad birthday experience. The soup is awful; a brown cube of beef broth with a lonely slice of mushroom. Filthy grill and table; it stunk inside. Service is awful with hateful help. Cook did his best with the sub-standard food he had to deal with. Chicken way overcooked and full of grissel. Filet could have been bought at Kroger and looked better. A disgusting experience and waste of money. Horrible soup; bad salad; bad entre and no desert. Go to Kobe's for a good Japanese meal. Pros: I can't think of one. The food at Kabutos is average, but the service is terrible. They were rude and very disorganized. I would rather drive a few more miles and/or spend a little more money for better service than go back to this place. Pros: inexpensive Cons: poor service more

The downside is that Kabuto's 99 cent sushi is no longer. Tuna went from .99 to $1.85. The upside is that the service has greatly improved. For a non-downtown sushi joint - it's my top choice. Also, they are the only place in Middle Tennessee with Mochi ice cream balls. I go only for the sushi and am rarely disappointed with the quality. My family and I have been to Kabuto twice since its opening 3 weeks ago. As long-time Kobe's Steakhouse and GoTen customers, we naturally had high standards for a Japanese steakhouse; Kabuto exceeded our expectations. Service is wonderful, and the chefs are delightfully entertaining. A top-quality drink list and separate sushi bar make eating at this restaurant an all-around treat. Another appeal here is the slightly more casual atmosphere than other steakhouses. Its location is also a plus. I highly recommend!! Pros: GREAT service, wonderful food, ample parking more
