Rafal and his crew remodel our living room, which included some structural work, and built a deck. They were very professional, perfectionist, and never did work that they thought would increase costs before first clearing it with us. The quality of their work is very high, and they would not do quick and dirty fixes even when we asked. They also had some very good advice and resourceful ideas to deliver what we wanted with cost effective solutions, and kept the dialog open at all times. All city inspections passed on first try. more

G&D Modern Home did a remodel of the living room, including structural work. It turned out really nice. They were punctual. As is often the case, there were cost increases. We paid more than they originally quoted, but don't attribute it to them as their fault. more

We've remodeled our Los Altos home four times, most recently with KLR. We converted two bedrooms into offices and turned another one into a beautiful master bed-bath suite. They are by far the best contractors we have worked with. They were recommended by our architect, Cornelia Haber. The KLR bid was much lower than the other contractors on this job, so we were afraid they might cut corners, but the reality was quite the opposite. Everything they did was done first class. Rafal was easy to work with and very reasonable with the payment schedule. He knew how to cut through the city permitting bureaucracy. Michael and Luis are construction geniuses who could do everything from framing, plumbing, electrical, tile work, to flooring. On top of that, Michael has an excellent design sense, helping us choose fixtures, colors, and surfaces. We got much more than we originally contracted for, and at very little extra cost. We liked their work so much we kept asking for more extras, and it was all done at very reasonable rates. I highly recommend KLR. I understand they are forming a new company and I hope this review follows them. more

KLR Construction was great! Compared to other past experiences with contractors, they really stand out. I was impressed and appreciated the amount of communication they provided on a regular basis. Our remodel was fairly extensive, and involved gutting about 1000 square feet of our home - pushing out our kitchen, raising ceilings, installing new floors, windows, fine cabinetry, and all of the plumbing and electrical. He extended our roofline in the backyard to create an outdoor lanai/living area. Rafal, leading his KLR team was awesome from start to finish. He has a strong work ethic, and is completely reliable. Rafal at KlR Construction has done a number of projects for us. He's installed cabinets, desks, and doors, he's replaced a sump pump and a ventilation system, he's replaced lock sets on doors, and he's done construction as well as maintenance work. There's very little it seems that he can't do. He just tries to keep the house straight. He does good work, he's efficient, and he meets our expectations in terms of the value we'll receive.
