SWLA Center for Health Services, Inc. is a not-for-profit community-based organization, incorporated in 1978. The recipient of a 330 CHC grant, the Center began receiving Bureau of Primary Health Care funding in 1984. Its mission is to provide high quality, comprehensive, primary and preventative health care and support services in a safe environment of caring, respect and dignity in a cost effective manner. The Center operates a facility in Lake Charles, Louisiana and a satellite in Lafayette. The mission of SWLA Center for Health Services is to improve access and quality to comprehensive health services, including primary and preventative health services for the uninsured, underinsured, and poverty-stricken populations within the target service area. Medical services, along with a network of ancillary and supportive services, are delivered by an efficient clinical staff in an environment accredited by the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Health Care Organizations.
