I have been going to this BBQ for years! With all of the others available in the East Bay, it has been the only one return too. Now that I am living over 100 miles away in Placer ...

Worst

This is not good barbeque. The sides were horrible and the atmosphere was depressing. There is much better barbeque up the road in Emeryville. I would never go back. I was hoping...

me and my family have been going to kc for 18 years. the bbq is flat out the best. it is like going to your family bbq, because of the family type atmosphere! the service is excellent! more

Where has KC's been hiding all these years. This is hands down the ultimate experience in BBQ. From the hand made links to the fall of the bone ribs. The quality of the food and the professional down home hospitality of the staff is number in my book!!! more

Their BBQ is the most delicious, scrumptous, mouth watering pieces of chicken, pork and sausage I have ever tasted. Make you wanna slap your momma. Not to mention the down home hospitality that you receive the moment you step through the door. Patrick Davis is one of the most finest people you could ever meet. Good Luck Pat in all you do. more

Barbecue is attempted by many but, for the finest in Bay Area barbecue you MUST try KC's SUCCULENT, DELICIOUS and Mouth Watering Barbecue Ribs, Links and Chicken. The atmosphere is friendly and family oriented. more

I'm a native Texan who have recently moved here to the bay area and I know ""good bar-b-q"" when I taste it! K C's ribs, chicken, beef, links, AND potato salad ranks with the ""best I've ever eaten"". After trying many other recommended bar-b-q places, this one made me ""bow down"" and give it ""2 thumbs up""! And the service is great. This is one of the finest Q expierences I have had in my life. I been in the bay for 40 years and I know good Q. because I am from Mississippi. However I must say this KC ranks among the finest Q beyond the Bible belt. Pros: decor, great serice, open late wknds. more

I've been enjoying KC BBQ for over 15yrs and it is by far the best BBQ not only is Berkeley but in the Bay Area. The ribs are so tender they fall right off the bone and the mild sauce is soooooo good. more

Well I will keep it short and to the point. I went five years without eating any of the established ran BBQ joints because no one, I mean no one caught my taste bud and I tried every place (that I was willing to patronize) and It wasen't until 6mo. ago that my father in law introduced me to KC, all I can say is where was this place all my life, come to fine out its always been there smokin up the bay, I'm just now seeing it. The ribs, well the meat falls off the bone every time, the slices of beef tender as can be, the sauce, just as good as the meat. At this place you don't go just for the sauce, or just for the meat, you go for it all. My kinda place. Pros: the best BBQ, catchy ambient theme Cons: parking more

The finest Kansas City style BBQ west of, well, Kansas City! The short-end ribs are simply without peer. If places such as ""Brothers in Law"" and ""Memphis Minnie's"" are editor's choices, then there should be a whole new category just for KC's! (just to keep the contest fair) more

having lived in Chicago, it was difficult to find a barbque place that i liked or would recommend until I tried KC's. Their preparation, tenderness of meat and sauce is identical to Chicago style of barbque. My highest rating is a '10'. more
