Our Favorite Spot 7/22/2002

We have visited K2U several times in the past two years. I have had steak on each occasion and it's the best. My wife loves the pumpkin ravioli. The chef is a master of flavor and the service has always been iimpeccable. This is our place of choice when ever we are hosting out of town guests. LOVE IT! Pros: Chef, Service, Menu more

  • The Scene
    The bar has a high-tech look, but the dining room has checkered tablecloths and bare wood floors. Farcical murals cover the walls of the dining room, which boasts a small stage area at one end. If you like classic jazz a la Mingus and Ellington, call to check which bands will be playing. Jazz to Go used to grace Wednesday nights, but other jazz groups still perform there. It's the best entertainment bargain in town.

    The Food
    The food has always been a convergence of homey and exotica, with perfect portions of health and sin. It goes way beyond pub grub--three-cheese farfalle pasta with spinach and tomatoes, fresh salmon and talapia fillets, grilled pork chops in orange demi-glace with au gratin potatoes. A favorite cocktail accompaniment is the fried calamari--the best in town.
