Just Kidz Dentistry

I love JKD! I took my little boy to my dentist one time and never again. They acted as if it was silly to take my 2yr old to the dentist. I have seen many children with tooth decay under the age of 5yrs so I think taking Dr. Spates advise of taking him at a yr was the best thing. The staff is great and very friendly. I am shocked to read some of these reviews! I have always loved the treatment my little boy has received. My 2yr is very head strong and can be a stinker when he doesn't want to do something. He has a fit everytime and they smile, giggle, and do the best they can to do a great job. Dr. Spates is a lovely gal and really cares about your childs teeth. Took my seven year old there today to have two teeth pulled, as his baby teeth did not get pushed out by his perms. Staff demanded a "get to know each other "appointment, even though we told them he had down sydrome, & was very scared & hard to handle in these situations! Staff insisted they knew what they were doing & wouldn't budge. Pros: Dentist was quick & good Cons: Staff insist on things going their way! more

My husband told me that my younger daughter had one of her teeth extracted today at her appointment with Just Kidz Dentistry. I didn't realize it is her first molar until I checked her mouth! She is only 4 year old. It will be another 6-7 years before her permenant tooth comes out. The tooth pulled out didn't look terribly bad to me. It can have other options! We were never talked with alternative options for this one. My younger one has had 3 teeth pulled out in their office so far. We have been visiting their office since she was 2 year old. We are there almost every couple of months and spent thousands of dolloars! I don't understand why they can't treat her decay earlier??? I am so disappointed this time. more

I wish a trip to the adult dentist could be so quick and good. They run on time. The staff is great. They do the cleaning so fast (and are so good at distraction) that my kids don't even notice what's going on. more

This message comes in response to "angrymary" in regards to hers comments about JKD. Her statements seem to be totally unfounded and untrue, at least based on the experiences I and my wife have had with that office over the last 3 years. Furthermore, I can honestly say that I have gone to several dentists in the area, both pediatric and general dentist with my children, and I can say, without reservation, that the staff as well as the Dentist (Dr. Spates)- at JKD are "head and shoulders above the competition" . More specifically, everyone was very professional and timely, something you seldom see in most health professional offices. And the statment that she does not allow parents back with their children is absolutly incorrect, because there are chairs in the operatories specifically so that parents and/or siblings can go back with the child to make the whole experience less scary and more pleasant. And while we have been fortunate in terms of the amount of work we have had done, whenever, our son has had more extensive work done, he has received nitrous so that the entire experience has been extremely pleasant for him and for us, his parents(Thank GOD!!). In regards to her being bad with children, I can say that I know people whose children, as do my own, actually look forward to going to the dentist-- something I never did as a child, but then again I did not have a "Just Kids " dentist when I was growing up!! more
