A Family Favorite! 12/30/2008

I don't know what some of the other reviewers were talking about, but my family loves Jun's. We meet friends there, celebrate things there, or just want a quick carryout when we're too lazy to make our own. I'm sorry if anybody else had a bad experience, but we never seem to have to wait more than a couple of minutes to be seated, the sushi is always fresh, and we haven't had any I'd call ""dry."" Sorry, guys, we have to disagree. Jun's is great! Pros: Good food, good service, nice place. Cons: At lunch there can be a glare from the windows; if you're not limber, it's hard to use the tables in the back dining room. more

Worst Sushi in Kansas City 1/10/2008

I heard this was supposed to be the greatest Sushi joint in Kansas City. It absolutely is not. I am a big sushi eater and have tried and eat at the majority of the places in the entire Kansas City area and this tops my Worst Ever list. I ate there around five times to give it an actual chance and every time it was just as disappointing. The rolls are tiny, tiny, tiny and very dry and flavorless. The menu doesn't offer any variety, either. I assume the people that love this place either don't know good sushi or just have bad taste. Great Sushi in Unexpected Place 1/7/2008

Just moved from Chicago and found Jun's from friend's recommendation. It's in a strip mall and you may never notice it if you don't know about it. WOW - so great. The sushi was pretty to look at AND delicious. Pros: Great food, Japanese Style Floor Seating in back, lots of parking Cons: Ambience (if you care) more

Best sushi in K.C.! 7/28/2007

By far the best and freshest sushi in the area. I live up north and will gladly be making the 30 minute trip south many more times. Kabuki at Crown Plaza isn't bad if distance matters. I have had sushi in 14 different countries and have a great sense of taste foodluvr13, so I know sushi! You have probably never left the midwest and have no idea what fresh fish is or own one of the other sushi places that you gave a positive review of. I'm sure 13 reviews are wrong and you must be right...enjoy applebee's! Pros: Service, quality, Great Sushi Chefs! Cons: Price more

Excellent - most established Japanese restaurant (that i know of) in KC. ALways a good experience - I love all the rolls, the sushi and the tempura is top notch. I eat sushi wherever I travel and this is right up there w/ the best in my book. Very nice folks too. more

Excellent 12/26/2005

I have been going to Juns since they were on 103rd st (about 1980) and have always received prompt service and excellent food. I have a Japanese friend who we took to Juns. She said it was the best sushi she had had since leaving Japan around 1965. Besides the sushi we think they make the best steak and salmon in town as well as loving the green tea ice cream. I don't know what happened with that one person but it certainly has never happened to us. John more

The only place for Sushi 10/5/2005

I have never ever had a bad experience at Jun's. I could eat sushi each night if I could afford it, but when I do go out, I go to Jun's. I have tried other places, but Jun's is consitently the best and friendliest. more

Best Sushi in KC area 8/10/2005

My wife and I have been going to Jun's since early in 1999. We frequently try new sushi places, but Jun's is where we always come back to for great sushi. The fish is fresh, the rice isn't too dry, and the serving size is very good compared to other places we have dined. If you've tried sushi before and didn't like it, try Jun's; you might just change your mind. :) Consider calling ahead on Friday evenings; they tend to get very busy. Pros: Great Food, Great Service, Good Prices Cons: Has smoking area. more

Best sushi in the south kansas city area 2/22/2005

I have been going to Jun's for over twenty years now, and the consistency of the food quality and service never ceases to amaze me. If you want first class sushi at a reasonable price there's no place like Jun's!!! more
